Why Data Skills Are Great for Non-Math Backgrounds - via https://lumi.do/
Short Intro, Maybe
Hello, and welcome to MathDinosaur on Tumblr!~ I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm the Math Dino. You may call me Math Dino, Elle, or whatever you want (Besides naughty names. We have to play nice, right kiddos?).
Currently, I'm a university student majoring in - you guessed it - MATH. That terrible monkey on everyone's back, making their lives Hell. Now, before I get into a long spiel about how math isn't just arithmetic, and no one is just not meant for math (since, you know, I labeled this post as "non-math" and all), I should probably give you some more information about myself and this tumblr.
My life goals: become a cryptographer (the person who helps keep your confidential info secret and safe), then become a college/university math professor.
This tumblr's goals: to spread the knowledge about what math is, to provide accurate and reliable information on math subjects, to create and understandably explain introductory lessons and example problems, and other ideas that will further these and related goals.
Seeing as how I plan to devote this blog to math, I should probably tell you readers what math courses I've taken thus far, am currently taking, and will be taking in the upcoming semesters.
Past collegiate courses (in order): College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Introduction to Statistics, Differential Equations, Calculus 3.
Current courses: Functions of Complex Variables (Summer A 2012)(AKA Introduction to Complex Variables in the graduate catalog. Yes, it is the exactsame course.).
Up-coming courses: Sets and Logic (Summer B 2012), Linear Algebra (Fall 2012), Introduction to Probability (Fall 2012).
So exciting, right?~
Also, because some people online are under the impression that every person's life revolves around his/her computer/the internet, I do have other obligations. I am a math tutor IRL, and I have an importation chair position in an on-campus club. Currently, I barely have enough time to do my homework... but once life calms dafawq down, I plan to update regularly... at least once a week.
Until next week!
