i just wanted to say, following this blog has helped me think so much more critically about so many animal rights issues! i used to automatically believe every single petition and clickbait video about "animal abuse" that came across my facebook feed, but having read what you've written about stuff like cetacean care, animal enrichment etc. i like to think i've become much more discerning. Also, i've started to watch and analyse my own dog's behaviour much more- hoping to improve my care of him!

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this right now, thank you. I made a preliminary post about the recent “abuse scandal” on my personal fb and ended up getting pulled into an argument with someone who is really important in my field that feels like talking to a brick wall. I’m so glad that what I do is getting through to people and helping them think critically, because jeez, it’s so important.
