Starfish
Anyone who knows, knows the starfish story I’ve told it many a times to any willing to listen A tale of a boy who never gave up Knowing he couldn’t save everyone He tried nonetheless, for it made a difference “to that one, and that one” and so forth knowing in his heart he couldn’t save them all What they don’t tell you in that tale Is not everyone can be saved Some so lost deep down, buried in the sand Suckers so stuck, the boy cannot get it unstuck That sometimes you must stop and move on If you can’t save that one, atleast save oneself Albeit selfish at first, if the boy drowns, the rest cannot be saved For no one is there to take the boys place, and continue making a difference If he himself is caught out at sea.
