You gotta hit “drop” when the Mii is as close to horizontal as it’ll get, and also time it so that it doesn’t hit the moving arrow thing at the top. Remember that there’s a slight delay between hitting drop and actually being dropped!! That’s what got me until it finally clicked, and now I have the kitty friend :3 (But I can’t wear it at the same time as angel wings, boo~)
