Dude I am. Howling over the ending. holy shit. Holy shit! Everything laid itself into place and it was like the second half of that book I kept going "oh so that's why she" "oh so then it was!" The way things all tied together! The Horn of Plenty! Victoria! Elizabeth! Ophelia and Thorn! The echoes! A lot of this specific book was about equilibrium, how it had been lost, catastrophic consequences, bringing it back to balance and how, in a way, the new balance is unstable. Like, Octavio saying it probably wouldn't go without a few hitches, getting used to things. The world, the ending, it's an open gift! To make of what you will! Like the box that gave false expectations (falsehood, a false self presented, another recurring theme), but was empty!
YAAAAYY I had the same feeling!! I'm so glad you liked it, I thought you would 😁 I like how it ties a bunch of things while still leaving others in the air.And falsehood + a false self represented <<< literally my favorite theme tbh lolll on every reread I still get extremely emotional on that part at where [redacted] raises a stone over Ophelie's head?? Also the whole stumbling on unexplored new old land... I think this book has a lot of specific weak parts but it really is to me like, so much bigger than the sum of its parts... god... I wanna read it again.... I think I'm gonna try reading the Eng translation!! 👀
