Hey fans, followers and Yatoites alike! We need your help! All along your wish for releases has been heard loud and clear ☆, but now it's time for us to come to you with one of our own.
While we at Norawgami Scanlations aim to be as fast, affordable and reliable as Yato himself, there's been some concern within the group regarding the continuation of our work that could possibly damage that reputation.
As you may know, our scanlations are 100% free to read, but unfortunately, the Noragami manga itself is not. We'd like to keep using our own personal scans to give you all high-quality releases, but the self-supplied funding for our little project is reaching an undesirable level. Now that we've reached the end of the volume chapters, there's also the problem of having to individually purchase issues of the current magazine releases in Japan as they come out, and by no means is it cheap!
For a number crunch, the total cost of the Noragami volumes we've used so far is roughly $60 USD, and depicted above is a collective photo of their brave sacrifices. May they rest in peace. Noragami Shuuishuu cost about $17 USD to obtain, and the upcoming new chapters (fresh from Japan's Monthly Shounen Magazine) cost $23 USD (for two chapters alone). That means for every new chapter, we'll be spending around $12 USD a month (shipping included).
To continue our work, we'd like to ask you all for your kind help with the funding. Whatever small sum you can offer (even 5 yen!) can help retain the quality we've been providing in the long run. We're hoping to cover the amount we've spent so far on Noragami, and in return, our releases will be of higher quality* and speed. If this funding pulls through, we'll even be able to buy and rescanlate the new chapters as soon as they're released as a volume.
(*Given that new releases are made of cheaper paper since they are not bound in volumes, the quality of linework should not be reflected on us but Monthly Shounen Magazine.)
