-you go home from a friend’s house at 11pm. the 38 stop says 15 minutes. you walk to the next stop. 15 minutes. as you head even farther, the bus passes you. you check every stop, the bus passes you. 15 minutes. you end up walking home. -your friends all live in the richmond. they’ve been living there all their lives. you’ve never visited. you ask to come over. they give you an address. it’s in the sunset. -the homeless man asks for change. you give him a quarter you found in your pocket. he thanks you. you go home and close the blinds. he’s outside, staring at you and asking you for change. he knows you have quarters. -the corner store two blocks away is closing down. the graffiti appears faster than ever. every day you walk by and see something new. today it’s a portrait of yourself. you walk past and it moves with you. -you walk past an elementary school. the bell rings. you check the time, it’s 3 am on a sunday. you notice it’s raining. it’s always raining, yet it never is. -the girl on the bus stop asks you where the golden gate bridge is. you point at the map. she thanks you and heads the wrong way. you get on the bus and she’s already sitting across from you. -you go to a local coffee shop . the barista is wearing a love trumps hate shirt. you compliment it, and he gives you a $3 discount on your $20 coffee. it’s the best news you’ve heard all week.
