There is a petition going around to stop Irish schools from opening, we get 20 thousand cases a day yet the minister of education, Norma Foley, won't close the schools. She just told the teachers and overall staff to keep the windows open and have counters that check the carbon dioxide in the room, and we are suppose to go outside for some air yet the the teachers all ignore it and make us continue the work. It's truly not safe for the students and teachers.
Norma Foley also mislead us. In December 2021, she appeared on RTE Radio and stated that based on a sampling of 90,000 tests, only 3% were positive. Later that day, the actual figures cited by Norma Foley revealed that of 90,000 around 8,400 were reported which included around 3,300 positive cases. While 3,300 are 3% positive cases of the 90,000 samples, Norma Foley misled the country as the real positivity rate in school was 39% of reported results.
As I stated in the previous paragraphs, Norma Foley, is putting all students and teachers in danger by saying schools aren't dangerous to be in.
I have many friends and peers who have caught covid and many still have it.
