A bill that would have required Williamsburg, James City County and York County to cough up 10% of their shares of the Historic Triangle sales tax revenue is no more.
Localities would get a smaller cut of the Historic Triangle sales tax should a bill intended to help fund a regional sports complex become law. The legislation would require Williamsburg, James City County and York County each give up 10% of their shares of the tax revenue to the project.
Seven candidates from the Virginia Senate 3rd District, Virginia House of Delegates 93rd and 96th Districts and the York Board of Supervisors 1st District spoke to a theater full of attendees about themselves and their policies.

'House of Cards' actress Elizabeth Norment dies at age 61
Actress Elizabeth Norment, who portrayed the secretary to Kevin Spacey's hard-driving politico Frank Underwood in the Netflix series "House of Cards," has died. She was 61 years old. Netflix confirmed the death on Wednesday but offered no details. Beau Willimon, the show's co-creator, called Norment a "talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all."

Norment appeared as a guest in many other TV shows, including "Doogie Howser, MD," "ER," Party of Five" and "Law & Order." She also appeared in the movie comedies "The Woman in Red" and "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion." She was born in Washington, lived in Japan and Germany while growing up, and graduated from Yale University.
