GET #NOOTED, ASSHOLES. Ever, Roxas, Axel. (Alternate Termination Thread ending: Failure.)
EVER
Xigbar was closest to Roxas and so he noticed the blond stirring, his smug grin spreading to his dark scar and touching his golden eye with a mischievous gleam.
"Well good morning, sleepy head!" He greeted almost sounding cheerful but it was clear that he was mocking Roxas.
Xemnas ignored the two of them as he continued to watch over Axel, his slender eyebrows furrowed as he sorted through his thoughts leaving Saix to be the one to acknowledge them. "Just in time. We should get started with him as well."
He turned and knelt down grabbing the wielder by the front of his coat before practically dragging him to stand as if he were some ragged dummy. "You were a fool for thinking you could simply 'disappear' without our permission... Where did you think you could go?" Die or return. Wasn't that how it always was? Those golden eyes narrowed as he scanned the keyblade wielder.
"I'm actually kind of GLAD he didn't die in the Underworld. We would have missed the chance to actually make him useful, ya know?" Xigbar laughed before the sound of movement pulled all of their attention towards the table where Axel now sat.
Xemnas took a slow step backwards, as if to admire his work. "Behold, gentlemen. The power of a simple, well placed, fragment of heart." ~ He then cast a sideways glance at Roxas before focusing on Axel and moving his hand to hover just over Axel's chest, small tendrils of darkness seeping into his 'heart' just as an extra little.. 'nudge'.
"And the power of darkness itself."
ROXAS Roxas’ eyes had widened in horror as soon as he was met with Axel’s blank stare. His eyes that were once an intriguing shade of emerald were now a certain form of gold that Roxas had grown to hate and fear. His gaze moved over to the eye’s of his other members, where they all at the same stare. He was haunted by the glances he received, fearing for what would happen next for the flurry and the keyblade wielder.
“What… What did you do to him?” Roxas growled quietly before being dragged up to his feet, flinching slightly at Saïx’s menacing stare. He tried to say something — /anything/. However the truth of Saïx’s venom words hit him hard, making him shrink back in fear. He was right. How could they think that running away from the Organization was a good idea? He had been told so many things, to just leave the Organization behind and not worry about the terrorising group since they couldn’t tell him who he was anymore, but yet Roxas was no where near ready to face the consequences of defecting. To think that they would be done with him after the suicide mission was a stupid thing for him to think. They had wanted him /dead/ — completely gone from existence.
Now he wasn’t so sure as to what the members wanted from him, but he didn’t like the way it sent chilled shivers down his spine.
Roxas watched as Xemnas moved his hand to Axel’s chest, panic rising within him as he tried to break free of Saïx’s grip, the seventh member of the Organization was holding on tightly, refusing to give Roxas a chance to even struggle. So the blonde was now helpless to aid Axel, watching him turn into something he was completely afraid of.
“NO!”
AXEL Roxas' cries once again went unacknowledged by the slender man with a distant look in his now golden eyes. His gazed was transfixed on himself even as Xemnas drew nearer to his side and bestowed upon him what would be the final nail in Axel's coffin. The promise of salvation through Kingdom Hearts did not come in the form of a heart to call his very own-- this was the Superior's true plan all along. They would receive a piece of a heart, certainly. Just not their own. As the dark tendrils seeped into his chest Axel continued to struggle against this strange power that was spreading rapidly through him like a merciless virus. As if acknowledging it could not shake him by attacking his willpower alone this dark force sank deeper into the recesses of his mind to exploit his weaknesses: Loneliness. Being forgotten. How could he become immortal in the memories of others if there was no one to remember him? How many years had he spent his time alone after Saïx turned his back on him, calling him foolish for clinging to memories of old? Just when he'd thought they were useless to him and had considered casting them aside Roxas came staggering into his life. That blonde with a vacant stare had eventually become his reason to keep fighting. At some point all of the choices he'd made revolved not around himself but around Roxas' well being, as well as another... a girl whose name he could not place. She lingered in the corners of his memory like a phantom. Axel suddenly let out a pained grunt as his hands went to his head, threading his fingers tightly in between crimson locks. A process meant to be gradual was being forced to progress rapidly by Xemnas' influence that continued to pour into his chest. This unknown force inside of him gathered strength from this added darkness and embedded itself deeper into his thoughts. He was always destined to destroy his friendships. Roxas, Ever, numerous falling outs that had brought them so close to the brink of losing one another forever was proof that he valued himself over the well being of others. Their next conflict could be their last and he would find himself all alone again, spending his days on the clock tower with nothing but the sunset to keep him company. He... he couldn't endure that. Not again. The last few tethers of his former identity were severed with the Master's words coaxing him further and further into his own darkness. He was doing himself a favor. Instead of risking it all only to endure the pain he had been told time and time again was only an illusion, why not just... F̧̙̦͙͎̥̮a͢d͉͇̪̙e̗̭̘̗͠ͅ ҉̬?
EVER
Saix relinquished his hold on Roxas only after Xemnas was done. He knew there was nothing that could be done to hinder their progress with Axel now and soon that silly notion of 'friendship' would forever be wiped clean from his mind. For a split second, Saix almost /felt/ pleased by this fact, amused by the rift this would create between Axel and the keyblade wielder who would soon join be forced to join them anyway. Xemnas turned his head and furrowed his brow at Roxas' strange outburst but couldn't get a word out before Xigbar chimed in with laughter that ALMOST sounded genuine yet still sarcastic and cruel. "Now, now, Roxas. No need to go throwing a tantrum." He smirked and wagged a gloved finger as he mocked the poor blonde. He then lifted his arms, gesturing loosely to the people in the room. "Can't you see? This is all for your own good!" It was then that Xemnas responded. "This is how it was always meant to be. You will see soon enough." It was in that moment, that the Superior turned and approached the blond, looking down at him with an unreadable golden stare that would haunt him for the rest of his life. "We're Nobodies. We all are the same. Brought from nothing to be.. something grand. It's time for you to play your part as well." Saix grabbed Roxas by the shoulders again to keep him from fleeing or turning away. A cruel smirk pulled the corners of the diviners lips. "It's much easier this way. Right, Axel?"
ROXAS
Roxas wanted nothing more than to grab that finger and twist it so hard that it would make Xigbar finally shut up. The blonde was fully aware of the tone behind his laugh and it had always bothered him because he /knew/ Xigbar was only doing it just to mock him. Yet part of Xigbar’s words began to worry him. /“This is all for your own good!”/ Roxas was shocked, unsure of what to say. There were so many thoughts and emotions running through him that he wasn’t sure what to tackle on first. “W-What… What are you talking about?” Roxas stuttered out, clearly confused by it all. How? /How/ could any of this be for his own good? All that the Organization had brought him was trouble and nothing more. None of this was good! His confusion was quickly answered as Xemnas responded, moving closer towards the blonde. Roxas just stared in horror, unable to move. He was completely frozen in fear from the harsh stare from someone that Roxas had considered his superior. Now Roxas wanted nothing to do with him. All he did was cause anger and anguish, especially in the current situation. Those golden eyes that Xemnas used to stare Roxas down would no doubly taunt him and make the rest of his life miserable. It was a sight he desperately tried to forget. “Play my part?” He managed to get out, his voice nothing more than a whisper. Just what was Xemnas talking about? His original role had just been to collect hearts for the Organization. Now Kingdom Hearts was complete, so what would they even need Roxas for anymore? Roxas felt Saïx grab onto him once more and he struggled in his grip, trying to break free but it was no use — Saïx was not letting go any time soon. They wanted Roxas to watch what horrid things they were doing to Axel. The keyblade wielder’s slow struggles came to a stop as soon as he was met with the Flurry once more. Axel’s eyes were haunting, and it made Roxas miss the usual shade of emerald that always seemed to have such a sparkle of life, brimming with curiosity and amusement. Now? Axel’s eyes were nothing but a blank gold, almost looking as dull as when Roxas had first arrived and was a complete Zombie. “…Axel?” Roxas whimpered out quietly, hoping that his best friend was still somewhere deep inside that blank being in front of him. He didn’t want to lose him… He couldn’t. It was then that Roxas had realized something so important that would have broken his heart if he had one. Axel was gone.
AXEL
For years sharpened words in the form of false promises scraped these empty vessels clean for their inevitable fate. The process of forcing the eradication of one's individuality was a painful trauma of which there was no coming back from. Axel brought this upon himself; he had clung so tightly to how human his friends made him felt and now he was paying the price. This was his grandest failure. Trembling shoulders abruptly grew rigid, gloved fingers raking into his scalp as he drew one final breath that he could truly call his own. With the exhale that followed came an intoxicating surge of power from the infestation of darkness within him that consumed the remaining traces of his sanity. /“…Axel?”/ The fearful whisper of his young friend reached his ear. His palms slid away from his head as it tipped back to splay wide upon the edge of the long table he was still sitting on. The sound reached out in hopes to be greeted with a trace of the familiar flame he knew... But the response the eagerly awaiting group received was that of a sinister grin worn by a man who dreamed of an existence crafted from the perfect balance between Light and Darkness. His next breath filtered through clenched teeth in a hiss that relieved itself in the form of a single ominous chuckle. "Something grand? Sounds like a good time." the redhead purred his response of agreement as he slid himself off of the table. He rose a hand then and flexed his wrist experimentally, feeling the powers of darkness practically ooze from his fingertips. He felt /amazing./ Unstoppable. He'd been foolish to try to run away from this fate. His cold golden gaze cast to Roxas then as he turned, his long strides bringing him to stand with Xigbar and Xemnas in front of the struggling Nobody. He now shared a connection between the other three corrupted individuals in the room that showed by how comfortable he seemed between superiors he'd previously defied. "Relax, Roxas... this is everything you've worked for!" he said with a sneer, propping a hand up on a prominent hip. It was true-- without Roxas' help in harvesting hearts, Kingdom Hearts would still be incomplete. It was because of him that Xehanort could finally claim his charges. "So what's with the glum face? Heh... it's almost pathetic enough to pass for genuine."
ROXAS
No. No no no. The continuous amount of each individual syllable word first erupted in the defeated blond’s thoughts before turning into a soft murmur, then moving onto a yell. “No! Axel you /can’t/!” Roxas cried out, as if begging that Axel was playing some sick joke. They had pulled many pranks before and Roxas hoped with everything he had that this was one of them. He had it all planned out in his head — Axel would be pretending to be one of cruel leaders before attacking them when they least expected it. Then they would escape and find Ever, with Axel quickly apologising about not informing Roxas of his plan. They would grab Ever and then escape. They would be okay. Wrong. They weren’t going to be okay. Thinking they would be was just wishful thinking for the blonde. Axel was not pretending. This wasn’t a prank. Everything about this was real, and knowing that Roxas had truly lost the main person he ever cared about more than anything, hurt him the most. He couldn’t even protect his best friend. How… How could he let this happen? Axel was as good as dead now. Roxas gazed up in horror at the transformed Flurry, not liking the way he stared at him. This was nothing like the Axel he knew and he wished that he could take everything back. If he had just followed the mission he had been given to Xemnas’ plan, everything would be better. Of course Roxas would have been dead, but at least Axel would’ve been /safe/. Roxas let his fear get in the way and it cost Axel his life, and possibly Ever’s too. What had he done? “A-Axel you need to snap out of it!” The blond managed to stutter out, clearly afraid of what his best friend had become. Axel’s words had hurt him, shaking him to the core. To think that the Nobody before him had been saying such nice things to him just a day ago, now to be replaced by someone who was cruel and filled with hatred — someone whom Roxas would grow to despise and fear. “Don’t say things like that! You /know/ that isn’t true!”
Loxka stood their giggling looking at the ground this was too easy like taking a heart from a heartless and it was fun.She looked up her eyes were different now instead of the hecto eyes she had both were now yellowish gold "Hello come to play a game have you?" she asked.
