The #knikglacier , located in the #northernchugach mountains, is one of the largest glaciers in South Central #alaska . For some reference of scale, the ice field averages over 25 miles (40km) long and over 5 miles (8km) wide. This is the headwaters of the #knik river which flows into the Knik Arm of the Cook Inlet. After flying over it, it's still difficult to comprehend the scale. We've made the glacier's surrounding peaks our playground thanks to @triplepointexpeditions. I appreciate the beautiful glacier views equally as much as the actual skiing and riding. Hoping my kids and many generations ahead can enjoy beautiful glacial landscapes like this. #glacier #landscape #ak #chugach (at Knik Glacier)
