Rondout, Four of Four

Concluding a small series of posts taken where the historical Milwaukee Road crossed over that of the EJ&E—this is a southbound Hiawatha train headed for Chicago, train 338.

Rondout, One of Four

An inbound Metra commuter train curves in off the Fox Lake Branch of the former Milwaukee Road. Here it joins the double track mainline, now part of the Canadian Pacific, and heads toward Chicago Union Station.

The Canadian National, former EJ&E line, crosses here near the tower and heads east to Waukegan. Not seen: the photographer is standing between abutments that once carried North Shore's Mundelein Branch, which is now a bike path.
