Rondout, One of Four
An inbound Metra commuter train curves in off the Fox Lake Branch of the former Milwaukee Road. Here it joins the double track mainline, now part of the Canadian Pacific, and heads toward Chicago Union Station.
The Canadian National, former EJ&E line, crosses here near the tower and heads east to Waukegan. Not seen: the photographer is standing between abutments that once carried North Shore's Mundelein Branch, which is now a bike path.
