Bridal attire from Nord-Trønderlag, Norway

This is the bridal attire from Nord-Trønderlag. Nord-Trønderlag was former municiapality in the central part of Norway.

The first photo showcases different bridal crowns. Depending on region, the type of crowns varies. Some crowns use more silver, while others are made of cloth, bands, feathers and pearls.

The second photo shows bridal cloths. These cloths are worn on the front of the brides chest. Same as the crowns, the cloths varies in design, color and details according to region.

The last photo shows bridesmaids crowns. These crowns are worn by the bridesmaids. This tradition is more common in Sør-Trønderlag (Central Norway). The region of Sør-Trønderlag seems to hold more traditions when it comes to bridesmaids and pre wedding traditions

These beautiful silver necklaces were used and are still used today when women get married. They are a part of the wedding attire when getting married in the Bunad. These have a very long history in Norway. Dating all the way back to the 1600s.
