Ready Player One (Sam/Sam)

The first thing he noticed was the soft whoosh, like elevator doors closing. It repeated a few moments later, and Sam slowly blinked his eyes open. Grogginess shoved abruptly into alarm as his senses kicked in--he wasn't in the motel. Cold concrete pressed against his face rather than overwashed sheets, and wind ruffled his hair. 

Scrambling to his feet, he looked around. Some kind of decayed, crumbling building that might have once been a warehouse. His hand instinctively went to his back for his gun, but it wasn't there. Of course not. 

Licking his lips, he immediately began formulating a plan. Step one, find some kind of weapon. Step two, figure out where the hell he was. Step three, get the hell out of here. 

Rummaging in a few battered crates, he inexplicably found a Glock 9mm--because that wasn't weird at all--but no ammo. Well, one thing at a time.
