Necessary Business

She had put in the request for Tommy Shepherd’s fetching assistance early yesterday, but had not yet seen the young man.  Now it was time for lunch, and she knew she had about 20 minutes to show herself in the dining room before a search party was sent for her.  She had a feeling that either Steve or Clint (or both) had made a deal for information with May Parker.  It was both well meaning and annoying, she was known to push the odd meal back if she was in the middle of something, or ultimately miss meals entirely, and that wasn’t good for the baby, but she also lost her train of thought.

She moved up out of the labs and through the infirmary, the larger hospital accoutrements were now moved off to the real hospital, but this still served as a clinic.  Lunchtime in the original mansion at Haven was also fairly reduced now that most people were living in the town, but there were still people working here.  She made down the hall towards the kitchen.

Peter carefully tagged each picture with accompanying location information.   Each went into a general location file.   General location as in North America, South America.  He then sorted the pictures in location order rather than alphabetically.   Hopefully that would make things easy for Tommy.

The request he put up was for bringing in medicinal plants.   The more they could grow here the more options they had for medications.   Eventually they would run out of raw materials after all.   Some things would only grow in the greenhouse.   Others could survive in the local climate.   Most of the local stuff he already obtained.   (Not cared for, he left that part to Laura.)  Ororo gave them an excellent start at it.   This would be a good way to round everything out.

He loaded everything up on a tablet.   Not a bad form of payment hopefully.   Something  he could even possibly add some games to.   But for now made a compact form for photo references and location data.  Peter hoped it would work well for Tommy.

Cleaning Out

Honestly Clint didn’t have a huge problem with teenagers that wanted it choosing to participate in these kinds of things.  It gave them real experience while under adult supervision.  As much training as anyone could go through the real thing would be entirely different.  

Why people trusted him with teenagers . . well that perplexed him at times.  Okay maybe because he was just a baseline  human that kept up with the enhanced.   He worked, and knew what kind of work needed to really stay on top of his game.   What needed to be put into it.  Sure he played hard, or not at all on his down time.   Yet he didn’t expect to stay on top shape if he did that all the time.   Plus he managed to keep on surviving despite explosions, or well tripping into danger.    Alternatively some might think he could just relate to the teenager mindset.

“Alright guys, listen up for just a second.  I know it’s tempting to run off on your own because you can, but teamwork is important.  Teamwork keeps you alive and as healthy as possible.  It gets the job done.  I want you guys to be good at this.  Okay?”   Calm, serious, not everyone recognized this Clint Barton.   For those that worked with him they very much would recognize Hawkeye.
