I hate the tree change make under dolls-Bratz were my obsession and I still respect them so so much for how true their fashion was to the time and their cultural diversity, Bratz have always had a wardrobe not saturated in pink like Barbie’s tends to be.They could be gimmicky or fierce. Their make up was everything and they were so appealing with their distinctive personalities. And as much as I dig Life in the Dreamhouse the Bratz TV series fucking slayed. The Bratz were so confident and great role models-they were all for girls supporting girls so anti pretentiousness and anti clothes/fashion shaming-I just love them all so much.
Except that fucking live action movie-it was such a let down.
You people have no idea how much and how long I loved that fucking franchise from 2003 to 2011when I turned fifteen and felt too old to pursue dolls but like three years later there I was getting into Disney Dolls+ Jfashion dolls-anyway Bratz are my idols still. The last remnants of millennial girl power that was so revolutionary-empowering itself in in your face girliness within capitalist and sexist constraints. Like embracing teen fantasy at a young age was perfectly fine for me I’d do backstabbing drama with my Barbies,do fashion shows with my Bratz & still serve tea to my Madaline and Angelina Ballerina dolls-liking fashion-even grown up body revealing fashion didn’t take away my innocence or childlike wonder. I mean thank god my mom was trendy as fuck and pro mini skirts or else I’d be so fucked in the head and think I was sexualizing myself when really it’s others who sexualize me. Idgaf what you say Bratz and My Scene Dolls Were so integral to myself image and developing my individual taste as well as my feelings towards clothes and deciding to express myself through them and do my own thing in every aspect of my life.
Bratz forever, fuck the haters.
