Hey :) I don't think this one has been submitted yet, but "The Logical Song" by Supertramp is so fitting for Caleb imo.
YES I love this song, and I think it works so well for him. You’ve got his childhood:
“When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful/ A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical”
And his schooling:
“But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible/ Logical, oh responsible, practical/ And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable/ Oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical”
And his attitude while under Trent:
“I said, watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical/ Liberal, oh fanatical, criminal/ Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're Acceptable”
And I don’t know whether this works better for Bren, under Trent, wondering about his purpose, or about post-asylum Caleb, trying to figure out his place in his world:
“Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned/ I know it sounds absurd/ Please tell me who I am”
I also love the upbeat sound contrasted with the depressing lyrics — I think it captures him looking back on his enthusiasm as a young man well.
Come yell at me about songs that remind you of Critical Role — but please note that there’s a long delay in responses! (Playlist | song spreadsheet & masterlist by disasterhumans | CR music tag)
