As someone who has yet to publish anything, I feel like there are 3 levels of success.
1) You hold the printed copy of your book in your hand. You did it. Even if it never sells, you wrote and edited a book and it is available to buy.
2) It is sitting on a shelf at a local library or book store. Is it only there because you are local and you asked? Probably. At best, your friends and family asked. But complete strangers in your community may someday be spotted reading your book.
2b) other small bookstores outside your community. Same idea, but you are more confident now.
3) this monster-
Your book is so well read it HAD to be added to the bulk store book aisle. Congrats, you appeal to the masses and have probably bought a new house. 😂
Idk- I was in Sam’s Club and thought “how crazy would it be to see my book here? I’d be happy if the Library I work at had it on a spot labeled “written by your local librarian!” In cheesy font.”
