Real Change in Gun Laws

This post has nothing to do with the usual content of this blog, but I hope you all will read it just the same.

Hey guys. So, I’m not sure how many of you will have heard of the two most recent mass shootings in the US. One in Ohio and one in El Paso, Texas. I’m also not sure about how many of you know that I’m from El Paso and have lived here my whole life.

I have always supported the movement to put bans on assult rifles and to stop te senseless violence, but now that it has affected me more personally, I have to stand up more. It’s really one of those situations that you don’t think it will happen to you, but then it does. I was on my way to the shopping center that the shooting took place at when I got the message to clear the area. I was MINUTES away from being one of the people in the area. And, I cannot believe that 20 people have lost their lives to this nonsense in my hometown.

Now, one of my friends started a petition to attempt to get more gun control not only in the El Paso area, but everywhere. It’s a matter of keeping not only everyone you love lives safe, but your own. Please take a minute to sign it, the link is above. It took me seconds to do. A few seconds of your life will help in a matter that could be your whole life.

Happy September!!! 

If I’m not consistently active on here it’s because I’m not feeling too great. I’m trying really hard to keep this a positive place all about fall and I’m dealing with a lot of su/cidal ideation that’s making it hard to be excited even though it’s fall and my birthday is in a few days. 

Not that anyone particularly cares. I guess I’m more just venting that even the season changing isn’t helping me anymore.
