hi friends! I know I have been very absent on here lately, and I just wanted to tell you why so you were left hanging out to dry! 

first: I was on vacation allllll of last week which left almost no time to draw. that valentine’s sketch of katara and aang was the only thing I drew the whole time!

second: I just started my last semester of college on monday and figuring out the way the new schedule flows has really thrown me for a loop.

third: my digital drawing software is totally freaking out right now. I’m trying to troubleshoot and will hopefully get it figured out ASAP!

regardless, you can expect some more traditional art in the next few days! thanks for your patience!

Hello,there are fans bashing your favorite character Katara for giving Zuko the karmic treatment he deserves given that betrayed her,what do you think of the fans?

hi! I don’t think anything of the fans. I don’t believe they are correct, but I don’t think anything of them as people. katara is my favorite character, yes, but zuko is an extremely close second, and while he does deserve her cold attitude when he first joins the gaang, we obviously know from canon that she decides to forgive him and, canonically, they go on to become close friends. 

I think it all comes down to the scene near the beginning of the southern raiders, when katara says, “oh, everyone trusts you now? I was the first person to trust you, remember?”

the thing is is that katara actually trusted him the fastest. she abandoned her predispositions towards him first, when the rest of her friends would have looked at her like she was crazy. so I think bashing katara for holding out on zuko isn’t entirely fair because she allowed him into her life before anyone else did, and he, almost immediately, turned around and shattered the faith she had in him. (of course, it was a completely necessary step in his redemption arc, but I digress.)

tl;dr - I have no hard feelings towards anyone with differing opinions than mine, but I don’t agree with them and think that katara being hard on zuko for so long before forgiving him (because the forgiveness is an important part!) was a huge and entirely necessary moment in both of their stories.

thanks (again!) for bearing with me through the absence from daily drawings of our waterbending fave. I am in finals week so it’s been a crazy last few weeks trying to get my last few assignments and study sessions in. hopefully you will be getting a brand new katara tomorrow - because we’re almost to 250 followers and I need to celebrate you all!

first of all, I can’t believe there are over 400 of you now. the fact that THAT many people want to see my art remains an incredibly mind-blowing piece of information. I do not deserve you but I am happy you are here anyway!

I am just about out of ideas for drawings/sketches/doodles of our favorite gal. I need to do a TON of scheduling/queueing because I am about to go on a week-long trip and will not have opportunities to draw. so please please please! if you have requests for kataras or ideas or just things you’d like to see, my ask box, messages, and submission box are always open!
