Our next gift to Kris is this fabulous basketball that is also a bag. Not only does it represent one of his most true loves in life (b-ball), it also represents his love of bold fashion statements. He can keep his wallet, extra Rolex watch, fancy pen to sign things, and emergency Capri Sun in it (can’t lose; got juice). Plus, it even says “Basketball” in case he forgets or anyone else is wondering what that sick accessory is. He would love such a practical and impressive gift.
Dang, a final happy birthday to Kris, hope he likes his presents. (We didn't wrap them because they aren't actually real.) Since this day also served as a celebration of our seventh anniversary here at Imagine Kris Dot Tumblr Dot Com, we'll end things with a few words from each admin.
Admin 1: haHA seven years. S e v e n. Who remembers way back in 2013 on EXO Showtime where Kris had to wade into the water on the beach and he didn't even take his shoes off. When that happened my primary tone for this blog was galvanized: loveable buffoon does very ridiculous thing. After that the years started comin' and they don't stop comin' and in that time Kris has done some real shitposty things in his life that absolutely eclipse the dumbest garbage that I have written him doing! And he did it all for the love of the game. Bless him. I am inspired by him. Stupendous dude. Thank you, cool and fresh Kris Wu, for giving us so much to make fun of you for over these past seven years. And thank you to our amazing followers who put excellent tags on our posts, who chat with us on Twitter, who wish us well when we gotta take breaks because this year has been an utter hellscape at every possible moment. Y'all being here has helped more than you'd think, so thank you for these past seven years.
Admin 2: If you told me seven years ago that a late-night email chat between my best pal and I would lead to me writing a blog featuring ludicrous vignettes lampooning the character of a now thirty-year-old man who dresses like he's parodying the concept of fashion itself, I would've probably believed you because, hey, that checks out. But in writing those vignettes across these years I've had a good ol' time despite uhhhhh life. Witnessing the spectacle that is Kris has been enjoyable at almost every moment, and every day I thank my lucky stars that I can log onto Online and learn that he's a racecar driver now or something equally absurd in line with his other absurd choices in life. What a man! No one can say he doesn't hustle; he said he's workin' harder than me and I ain't gonna lie—that's true. But even more amusing and fulfilling than watching him grow into a phenomenon has been interacting with everyone via this nonsense blog full of nightmares, even though it's had its ups and downs. It's a little quieter here these days, but I always appreciate coming back. Happy seven years, baby.
We wanted to share a few resources we’ve found in response to the recent anti-Asian hate crimes committed across the United States.
The LA-based Chinatown Community for Equitable Development posted an incredibly informative and helpful thread on twitter here.
GoFundMe has a landing page with a broad donation link as well as a significant number of smaller fundraisers linked later on the page.
The following are referenced from @lnfini‘s post that you should check out here.
You can donate directly to Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta.
You can donate directly to Red Canary Song, a collective of Asian & migrant sex workers.
This article briefly covers what has been happening and provides links to 61 fundraisers supporting the Asian community.
We encourage you to show your support in any way you can, whether it be donating, supporting local Asian-run business in your area, or simply sharing information. Please continue seeking out resources and keeping yourself informed.
Hello! We're taking the day off, see you soon.
Hi, Admin 1 here. Right now I'm typing this up on Monday evening in anticipation of a real wonky Tuesday, the day that it'll be when you read this. Us admins planned to take Wednesday the 4th off from posting because we have no idea what'll be happening with the news at the time we'd be writing posts for that day. This is particularly remarkable for us because that day is also our seventh anniversary of running this blog, a day which we always commemorate. However stuff could be real fraught! So we're instead going to celebrate our amazing seventh anniversary on the 6th instead to coincide with Kris' birthday. Please look forward to that amid the doomscrolling. Also be good to yourself. That's it, bye, I love you.
