Been having my idk quarterly anime obsession moment, so there may be slightly less Hermitcraft posts for the next lil while. The new Apothecary Diaries season also has me within its grips.
Anyways I finally watched the first season of tbhk, and oh man the art and the cute + spooky vibes are so 👌. Glad I happened to pick it up right before the second season started aha.
The show is mildly driving me insane, however .The progression of character friendships are so cute, and there's this feeling of forward momentum with the rumors they investigate and whatnot.
And then you get hit with the gut punch of remembering that the other main is in fact, a ghost. And that there can be no real aging or growth for him. He's dead and stuck in this school. Dead before the story even started. There's time travel involved where Nene meets Hanako before he dies, but even then he's still dead because the narrative already stuck in the metaphorical knife.
There's this dynamic between life and death, and then the second season plot twist hits you where you were already hurting ;__;
