People vs. Fossil Fuels
This isn’t my usual content but there’s a surprising lack of coverage regarding this. Today was the first of a week of peaceful protests taking place outside the White House in the fight against fossil fuels, Line 3, and other projects that have and will continue to destroy our environment. These protests are Indigenous, youth, and women led. Over 500 came to today’s protest and of these, around 130 were arrested. An excessive amount of local police as well as Secret Service members were called to “deal with” the crowd and LRAD was employed against Indigenous elders, women, water protectors, and all present allies today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
