4. What would they think about each other’s love interests (if they romanced someone of course)? ooh this is a cool one!
emilia would personally find fenris a little too rough around the edges at first, but she has a compassionate heart and would change her tune after learning his backstory. and then i think she would be glad to know that cullen had grown and survived past their last meeting in kinloch. i think she might pity him if she knew all that he’d been through, but i also think she’d consider him a good match--hardworking, selfless, and loyal.
i think aurelia would (and does, during their brief meeting in DA2) adore alistair! he’s grown more “serious” by the time he meets her, but he still has his playful personality, and they would definitely use humor to bounce off of and encourage each other. and then of course aurelia hates cullen. but she has such a strong and aggressive personality that she hates him in a very outwardly “friendly but with daggers” kind of way. she goes out of her way to talk to him and yet she’s not exactly nice to him. they do grow to find common ground eventually. but she’s a bit um shocked when she realizes he and ellinor have been dating since before she arrived at skyhold.
ellinor would probably have loved alistair under any other condition than the one in which they canonically met, but because she meets alistair when he is (understandably) very upset and cold toward the inquisition’s presence, she gets a bad impression of him. this lessens over time, as alistair writes her an apology and also sends her a questionably large number of fereldan forders to the inquisition as a peace offering. i do have a bit of a one shot (that takes place during AWA but won’t fit into the main story) where they do meet a second time, and it’s a lot more amicable then. on the other hand, i think ellinor will love fenris when he appears in AWA would love fenris if she ever met him. she would vehemently disagree with his stance on mages, but at the same time, i think his hatred for them might(?) lessen a bit following DA2, especially knowing that aurelia is pro-mage. basically, i believe it would be easier for ellinor and fenris to move past their differing stances on mages than it was for ellinor and cullen to do the same.
13. Do your protagonists share the same opinions on The Game? in short, no.
emilia’s stance is more or less this: could she excel in the game? yes. does she think it’s a waste of time and not worth dabbling in? also yes.
aurelia wouldn’t even have the patience to listen to someone explain the game to her, let alone partake herself. she’d take it as a joke anyway. why tiptoe and lie and cheat before killing someone when you could just outright kill them?
ellinor is my only OC who genuinely tries her hand at the game. she doesn’t exactly respect it, but she can play it and has played well when she needs to. (cullen strongly disapproves.)
