Yeah, like, Danganronpa is a game where minors are trained to kill themselves in the worst possible ways and be executed in horrible ways as well. I am a person who is kind of rigid with age and goes far beyond researching.
So the sexual stuff in between, it's nothing, The age for a person to have a consenting relationship is over 13 in Japan.
And I think you know how Japan works in its cultures, especially in fiction.
In Russia for example, you can only do these sexual things over 16 years old.
Practically close to the age of Danganronpa Characters, But, they are not Russians, they are from Japan, Hope's Peak Academy is based on a real university in Tokyo which is in Japan.
So Danganronpa is set in Japan.
Am I right? Sorry if I'm wrong in my research, you're a great person to share this kind of information.
thank you for sharing your research. i have to disagree with your assertion that the "sexual stuff in between" is nothing, though. the age of consent being thirteen in japan does not excuse the game itself for sexualising high school students. the killing and the violence in danganronpa are portrayed as horrible things, in part because they're happening to people so young. there's nothing black and white about it; the killing game is straight up wrong. but mechanics like the love hotel and the customary peeping scenes in each game are inexcusable in my opinion because they are not products of a horrible game; they are intentional fan service to please a predatory audience.
i said yesterday that the killing game itself is heavy, so that it may or may not be happening to younger teens is not something to dismiss out of hand, but in NO WAY does that mean that i think that the fan service content in any of the games, especially v3, is appropriate. even if it is legal. additionally, i do NOT fault other adults for choosing to see the characters as adults so the inclusion of this content makes their skin crawl less.
thank you for your insight.
