Rating: Not Cute

While this is a mouse, not a rat, the primary issue is the same: do not handle or attempt to rehabilitate wild animals if you’re not a professional. This baby should have been taken to a wildlife rehab asap; raising it as a pet is not humane since wild mice carry disease and cannot be happy in captivity. Especially considering the fact that it was injured, it was likely in a lot of pain from that swollen foot and needed vet treatment. Vets could have prescribed painkillers or antibiotics if necessary, to help keep the swelling down and fight infection. However, since this person decided to raise the mouse themself, the animal likely suffered a lot more than it would have if it had been brought to a professional for care.

Other care issues are present such as using paper bedding and a wheel that is both way too small and also made of wire (which can cause toes to get caught). Similar to rats, mice are social animals, and females should be kept with other females. It seems very fitting that the video ends with a shot of their cat staring into the tank the mouse is being kept in, trying to get in to eat it. But even if their care was top notch for pet mice standards (which it is not), in the end, this is a wild animal and should not have been raised in captivity in the first place.

Aside from rats, what are some of your favorite rodents? My dad and I both absolutely LOOOOOOVE capybaras! There’s a teacher at school who also likes them. Pretty much everyone I’ve shared them with loves capybaras. They’re just so cute, basically giant sand colored Guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are already super cute and capybaras are capybaras on steroids. All rodents are really cool but capys are one of my favorites.

I really love dwarf hamsters. As I was graduating from high school, my geology class had a dwarf hamster that needed to go to a permanent home. I volunteered to take her since I don't think anyone in the class was doing a good job taking care of her. I had to learn a lot about taking care of hamsters pretty quick and I was flying by the seat of my pants the whole time. I really loved her though and everyone else really liked her too!

rant time but it’s been a grand total of six days since I spent £60 to get my laptop fixed and now it’s having the same problem!! The charger port won’t recognise that the charging lead is plugged in unless it’s in a specific position and last time it just stopped charging completely which is why I had to get it fixed.

Like I assumed they would replace the charger jack thing and it would be fine?? But apparently not?? Any laptop geeks know what I could do? It’s a Dell Inspiron and only 14 months old. I don’t want to have to keep paying for a repair or buy a new laptop when money is already so short.

I'm trimming bushes and noticed this tiny man lurking way too close to my workspace to be safe, so decided to scoop him up and put him somewhere safer (with plenty of bugs!)

He was a little lethargic when I picked him up, I imagine it was because it's getting so chilly in the mornings here~
