hey guys!
sorry ive been kinda inactive on here, I’ve been busy trying to keep up with my schoolwork, which has been a bit difficult since moving to online only instruction (im quite lazy and am tempted more than ever to slack off haha)
just wanna say that I hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy! stay at home if you can, wash ur hands, etc. etc.!
i know its hard not being able to socialize and live like we normally do, but its for the greater good! we can all get thru this! :D
how is everyone liking SwSh?
I just finished Sword yesterday and i really liked it!! In terms of story, it admittedly wasn’t the best one of the main series games, but I thought it was way better than X&Y, and all the characters were really cute and/or interesting and fun to watch and interact with! I personally really liked Marnie, and i wish she had more screentime.
In terms of gameplay, it was really good! I really didn’t notice any of the “errors” that people said would ruin the experience, and I didn’t even find myself missing any of the cut pokemon! I really liked using an all new team and not having the option to fall back on some of my old faves. The galar region looks amazing, I really like exploring the wild area, battles look great, pokemon camp is really cute and fun (although I do stick by my opinion that amie is still the best ‘bonding-with-you-pokemon minigame/feature’ they’ve ever given us) and the soundtrack is really cool! the gym leader battle theme in particular always got me hyped.
what are your guy’s thoughts? if you like it, whats your favorite part? if you don’t like it, what would you change? anyone else beaten the game yet? what mons did you end up using on your team? who’s gonna go ahead and try and complete the dex? anyone gonna try their hand at hunting for shinies? any shinies you want in particular?
and just a fun fact about my playthrough, since I’m really happy with the team i used, my final team was cinderace (nicknamed hariette), boltund (nicknamed brie), corviknight (nicknamed timmy), hatterene (nicknamed purah), eldegoss (nicknamed onigiri), and drednaw (nicknamed frankie)! drednaw was a bit of a variable though, i swapped her out for eternatus for the champion battle, and once I got zacian I permanently swapped the two.

what are everyone’s thoughts on gen 8 so far? anything specific y’all want to see in terms of features? which starter do you think you’re going to go with? personally I’m leaning towards scorbunny, but they’re all adorable imo!

I pre-ordered Shield! I like Zamazenta and the ghost gym. My team plans so far are: Cinderace, Grimmsnarl, Toxtricity, Runergius, Corviknight, and Ludicolo. Gives me a lot of coverage.
oo nice! im very excited for cinderace!! i actually don’t mind this round of final stage starters, i actually think sobble’s final evo is pretty neat looking lol, but i cant resist i fire rabbit.
and ur smart to be thinking about coverage haha, whenever i play a pokemon game i dont focus much on type matchups and all that, so i often struggle at least once during my run lol. maybe this gen ill switch that up!!

I got shield bc of Allister and I'm looking forward to having Scorbunny as my starter. I really want Yamper for ots evo. and Corviknight...maybe also Rapidash but otherwise idk.
another team scorbunny, nice! and im with you on yamper, its so cute on its own, and then its evo looks really sleek! it kind of reminds me of electrike/manetric from gen 3, and i loved having them on my hoenn team so i bet the same will go for yamper!
