There's been a recurring theme throughout my life where I've tried to recapture my youth through various means, but before I go into that more, I just want to point out a nuanced view that doesn't get shared quite often. Youth itself is a mirage. It's fairy dust. It doesn't exist. Why, you say? Because I remember a time, somewhere around maybe 3 years old, and hanging out with a 2 year old and being just like I am now.. being a very smug, pompous, and entitled little asshole towards any person that happens to be younger than myself. When you're 5, the "good ole days" was just the time when your mom didn't send you off to pre-school. No one ever feels young, really. So back to my point.. wait, did I have one? Am I now addressing myself instead of an audience? Have I become stuck in my mind. A matrix? Has Tumblr become Skynet? Are they trying to share my deepest darkest secrets as some sorta twisted perverted online diary to the world? Whatever you do don't think about that time you drank pee because you once read it could get you high and wasn't that horribly tasting... Damnit!! Oh yeah, so my point is that there's no point in trying to recapture your youth. You never had it.
