Hey, anybody in Texas (particularly the coastal bend), be careful with the storm coming in. Hurricane Beryl may only be a Category 1 hurricane but that's still enough to do some damage. If you're in the path of the storm, evacuate if you can and make proper preparations if you can't.

You're right about Dean thinking Sam was the favorite. In season 3, when Dean had the demon dream, the demon version of himself taunted him with "Sam he doted on, Sam he loved" about John. The fact that Dean has this inner monologue in the dream points to him thinking Sam was John's favorite.
The whole reason Sam and John fought so much was because Sam wanted out and John wanted to keep him close, plus they were very similar which Dean says himself in the show.
My point is, you were right.
