people say nick is very similar to other 2010s male sidekicks in disney movies, and this is true
but what is also true is that as character descriptions go, "(former) con artist's carefully cool exterior is repeatedly shattered due to antics of reckless partner, revealing bottomless pit of anxiety" is both interesting and, like, very funny
oh yeah, don’t worry about that. you just gotta give them 108 minutes or so
Man, bonus week's already over? Thanks for it! It reminded me of the old days when there were many blogs dedicated to out-of-context screenshots and moments from NITW. I wish more blogs of that existed or were active now. I'd do it myself if I had some way to screencap every single thing in the game.
yeah, it really did fly by, didn’t it?
like i said, these were just moments i liked enough to casually hit the screenshot button on my laptop as i was playing. making screencaps of a game can be a big undertaking. one of the reasons i’ve been so consistent about posting zootopia stuff for three years straight is because it’s much simpler; i have all 90 or so minutes in my editing software as a video file, and that’s it
dontmindme42 replied to your photo “the only valid critique of zootopia’s worldbuilding there has ever...”
@weirdzootopiaframes Now I’m curious, what’s your issue with Mr Big?
it’s not like, an issue issue, just something i would’ve done differently
one of the things that’s notable about zootopia is how finely they crafted the titular city. you can tell there’s a lot of history behind figures like lionheart and bogo and bellwether, to the point it really does feel like a fully-realized city-
and then you meet the powerful and infamous criminal essentially running the city’s underworld-
and it’s marlon brando. for a couple minutes we do a parody of a 1972 film, which even the kids in the audience will understand because it is one of the most parodied films ever made
don’t get me wrong, it’s funny the first time. (and that’s disney’s prerogative, as getting a huge number of people to come once is more financially desirable than getting a smaller number to frequently return.) but it reminds me i’m watching a disney film created by committee to have jokes in it, which is something i can very easily forget while watching zootopia.
so yeah. i would’ve cut the admittedly funny joke for the sake of worldbuilding, because that’s the kind of nitpicky standard i hold my own writing to
i love how the fandom had to guess the spelling on “officer wolford” and then the script came out a couple months after the film itself and it turned out to actually be “wolfard” but at that point changing it seemed super weird so we collectively decided to just not.
Im a 26 yr old male and most preteens are physically larger than me, its a struggle
yo yo hey:
for the next month or two i’m gonna have to travel around a lot, so i’m trying out a thing where i won’t bring my huge crummy laptop everywhere with me (for once)
as a result i’m trying to fill up the queue for longer periods, and might need more time to respond to any requests you might have
just keeping you updated, as you were
