It wasn't normal for the Duchess to get mad at Mal, but on this rare occasion she couldn't help herself. Seeing him being as friendly with another girl as they was drove her nuts. A lot more than she’d like to admit. She was thankful that Mal shut her up because it gave her reassurance and a bit of closure, which she felt she needed at that time. However all she could manage to whisper was, “Thank you.”

After opening his door to let som fresh air in as he couldn't beat the heat he looked over to the apartment on his right and he smiled

Ugh, long days at work like this was always exhausting for Duchess, I mean who wants to talk to that many people - voluntarily. She threw her bag onto her couch and poured herself a glass of Lemonade and opened up her door to the balcony. It was lonely living on her own in an apartment, especially when she hardly had any friends round, apart from Faybelle or Sparrow.
