Dear Deer || Spock & McCoy
The wind was fresh with the scent of damp pine trees as Spock and Dr. McCoy made their way through the foggy trees. The only sounds were the noises of boots on mud and leaves, the wind in the trees, and the chirps of Spock’s tricorder. The Captain had once described Purpura VII as being reminiscent of the forests inside of Washington on Earth, but as Spock had never been there and Jim had not joined them on the planet, he could not confirm the theory.
“According to my scans, we are approaching a settlement of the locals,” Spock said as they made their way down a hill. He frowned slightly. “Curious. I have not heard any sounds of civilization yet.” He looked at McCoy with a pondering expression. “At this distance it would not be unusual to see some of the residents already. It would appear Lieutenant Uhura’s cultural estimate of being rather quiet and reclusive was not inaccurate. We will have to proceed with caution.”
