Summer Schedule

//Hi guys! I’m behind on my plan for finishing my AA and I’m getting antsy to graduate, so to ensure I can finish my degree in the spring and transfer, I have to take some summer classes. So for the next 6 weeks I expect my activity will be spottier as I try and keep up with the fast-paced classes. I’m taking a class on campus every day Monday-Thursday, as well as one online I have to make sure to keep up with. I started them today, so the new schedule is already in place. Then I’ll have 2 to 3 weeks until the fall semester kicks off.

Lately I’ve had a bit more muse for @magnetiicpersonality than anything else, as well as pretty low energy because of trouble sleeping. So there’s a possibility I’ll have to take a temporary semi-hiatus on this and my other Star Trek blogs, depending on how much work my classes are. I very much hope not, but it really depends.

Either way, I’ll see you guys around soon!

He scoffed. “What do you take me for? You’ve made your oaths to your people too. You’re already a liar and a cheat. I have no reason to put any trust in you.” Still, the idea was... interesting. Jim just needed proof this would work first.

“Well, that’s just peachy!” They didn’t have too long to think. He was feeling the heat in earnest now. It wouldn’t be much longer before they were grilled black like a pair of overdone steaks.

His eyes went wide as saucers when he saw the looming ledge. He screamed “Jim, NO!” even as his Captain kicked it into a higher gear. McCoy watched the distance to the drop-off close. Lord help me, he thought before the ground under him disappeared.

‘It isn’t the height that kills you, it’s the fall’. He remembered his grandad joking with him at the community pool’s high-dive. This was that, times a hundred. Instinctively, McCoy’s arms flailed outwards as he found himself plummeting. Training kicked in during the last ten feet, and he managed to get his body in the right position before the black water swallowed him whole.

The first few moments felt like flying. He went up and forward first. And for a split second Jim felt totally free -- then came the drop.

He automatically shifted into the best position and took a deep breath. After just a few seconds he hit the water with a huge splash. The water was very cold in contrast to the heat of the fire above him, and when he managed to break through the surface to gasp for air, he was already shivering.

“Bones?” he called, treading water and turning in place to look for his friend. “BONES? WHERE ARE YOU?”

The sight of his own blood darkening Kirk’s hands sickened him suddenly, and when he again opened his eyes, he let his gaze shift to the side. “You have the chance to establish a double agent, Captain. I am sure one such as yourself could not pass up the opportunity to have a Romulan operative as a…business partner.”
