War could not compare to the pure Hell he was living. A certain Hell that he had never even imagined would happen to him. Fighting, blood, injuries, even death were things that Naruto was used to, no matter how much it hurt. But this type of pain, this sort of violation and this vulnerability are things that he had never felt before.
“D-Damn it…Damn it…” His shoulders were shaking and his steps were failing. He was running some moments ago, but he didn’t have the strength to do so anymore. But he kept on walking, because he always did whenever he had a goal in mind.
Finally and as expected, he tripped. But he didn’t bother stand back up.
Sasuke had been walking towards the fire country when uneasiness befell him. He couldn’t explain it, a crawling in his stomach and restlessness of his chakra. Aware of the connection he and Naruto shared, he considered it a potential explanation. He was near Konoha anyway, so he might as well stop by for a day or two.
But he didn’t come that far. Several kilometers short of the village’s gate, Sasuke saw Naruto’s form sprawled out on the ground.
“Oi, Naruto!” Sasuke gritted his teeth and spurted the remaining distance. He slung one of Naruto’s arms around his shoulder and helped him sit against a tree.Â
“What happened?” he pressed. There were bruises all over Naruto’s body. “What are you doing out here?”
