This Is a Detective Story
It was rare for Jason to return to The Manor after what he'd done more than a year ago. He'd set himself up quite nicely in Midtown's West Side district, in a converted safe-house with his partners and their son and their ridiculous number of pets. There was room for his tank in the garage, a fully equipped armory, and more than a few smiles to greet in when he came home from work or patrol (especially when Reid and Mulan dropped by unannounced to work on cases or news stories or just for company.)
But there he was, sitting the chair that his adoptive and deceased father normally occupied in front of the massive Batputer that took up the majority of the underground base of operations for the now decimated Bat Family, typing in the name of a man who had been missing since the deaths of their father and youngest brother.

The multiply screens were instantly filled with over-lapping windows of notes, news clippings, and stats on the first Robin, but the main monitor held the most important thing to Jason at that moment.
Grayson, Richard John: Active Duty > Missing in Action > Presumed Deceased.
The bright red letters taunted him and Jason leaned back in his chair and rubbed his face. He never liked leaving cases open and this was one of three that were steadfastly and stubbornly unsolved. It was part of being a detective, and a Bat besides. You never leave a lead unfollowed.
Well, Jason had a new lead and a new hope at discovering the fate of Dick Grayson.
