Ok my tumblr babies bear with my old lady brain for a minute. I was in the shower when i realized... Maui's mother did NOT throw him away. That body language is not " i dont want this ugly baby". That is " oh merciful fates, i dropped him!" Now this is where my brain went wait.... What if Maui was from Atlantis? His mom dropped him while running or more likely, because she could no longer run due to injury/ no longer being alive.. Because Atlantis was being destroyed. Polynesian Gods found him and saw that she had sacrificed herself to save him and gave him demi godhood. So anyways.. thanks for coming to my Ted Talk...
