Well, I'm finally back on the house's wifi. I kinda needed the time largely off of tumblr, even though the reason was shitty. It was a stupid, shitty reason, but it helped me finally recenter myself.

It kind of breaks my heart a little to see how some of the characters are being twisted beyond all recognition in an attempt to mirror other works. Like Twilight.
Because BioWare has done an excellent job in creating compelling, complex characters. They’re totally unpolished knights in shining armor (*cough* Alistair *cough*), nobles who cast off their crowns (Cassandra), or villains who, despite their breathtakingly awful and dehumanizing actions, have very real, human motivations (real talk? I do count Corypheus among this bunch). There’s a depth and richness there that deserves to be protected - if not thoroughly explored. I honestly prefer the latter: it’s more fun for me to look at a prompt and think “what could possibly ever motivate [Character] to ever behave like this?” and - then write that - than bypass canon motives and behaviors altogether.
Whatevs, I honestly should be drinking tbqh
Why does something of mine that I wrote this morning have 500 notes I WAS SLIGHTLY HUNGOVER
