I don't even know what to say today. I just...as I watched the results coming in last night the nauseous feeling I had all day solidified into a chunk of fear and anger and despair. I know that going into this election yesterday it was a terrible situation neither candidate was great and while people were quick to point out all of Hillary's shortcomings and issues with emails and a mistake that was made years ago nothing about her created such feelings of hate and bigotry as the words and actions of Donald Trump. The way he acted during his entire campaign gave permission to people in this country and around the world to act out in ways that should never ever happen. No one should ever be able to justify bigotry and hate and racism and war crimes and harassment and that is what this man's campaign did. People in this country literally just elected a president who acts like a man we fought against in WW2and who was openly supported by the KKK and various other white supremacist groups during his campaign. I can't... I can't even believe that this is the country we're living in now. I am terrified about what the next four years is going to bring and what years beyond that are going to bring because of the mindset that was allowed during this election and I'm not even a person who was a target of his hatred other than the fact that I'm a woman. I can't even imagine what Muslims are feeling today or people of color are feeling today or members of the lgbtq community are feeling today. I have always been proud of our country and the strides we have taken to be more accepting of others in the past few years and today for the first time I am sitting here completely embarrassed to be an American. I know that they're just words and they're from one person so they probably don't mean anything but I just have to say that for all the members of those communities that Donald Trump's campaign has tormented I just want to say I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart I'm so sorry I will do whatever I can to help everyone to try to counteract that man's horrible horrible choices. I know that there are people out there that are going to be in for a really rough time and for that I just cannot even express how terribly I feel. I want you to know that I am with you until the end and I will fight for your rights until the day I die. Keep each other safe out there. 😢😢😢😢😢
