♕ - Where was he? Subconscious feelings of tossing and turning had long since gave away to another view, a new world entirely as the blur of his vision from darkness to the chaotic scene of a battlefield snapped him to full awareness. Hardly any time was allowed in the luxury of adjustment as the instincts kicked into overdrive from what he witnessed. Heartless, hundreds, no, potentially thousands claws at air and land in order to speed their advance towards him.
Or could it be what lies beyond him? The abundance of light that blood, sweat and tears was sacrificed to protect? Just the mere thought of the looming dangerous causes him to tap into his resolve, to embrace that energized warmth as strength wells within him in the form of a bright aura. “It’s always the same.. You guys keep trying to take hearts, hurt people, end so many things! And for what!?”
A natural desire for destruction? Somehow twisting to obey Xehanort’s orders? As his hand arched in a familiar fashion, tendrils of light begin to ignite and weave themselves into the legendary weapon that allowed him to cross paths with so many people. Having it’s presence was akin to being joined by an old friend at this point. Pure light hardened to mythical steel as the Keyblade was settled into his grip just as he’d push a firm foot off the ground. Hesitation was cast aside in order to take on the legion honing all of their lethal intent solely onto him.
Or a sign of things to come?
Sora proudly throws himself into the fray as split second instances of fight or flight melded into the dance of battle. Counting less on his eyes, more on his senses to push his body to the limits and allowing his lungs to bellow forth a battlecry were only some of the things that could be picked apart from the way. Darkness time and time was sliced through, cleaved and broken down only for a more sinister substitute to take it’s place in the name of the heart’s lost. Not even seconds were given to ponder whether this fight was truly his being experienced.
All he could do was apply his all, to utilized every inch of new strength he gained through a frenzy of spells and technique to take on opponents who were getting equally stronger.
It almost felt.. As if what he was going against was a eternal struggle that finally driven it’s weight onto his shoulders. A fact that hardly matters as radiant light shifting within his weapon allowed a holy arc of a blade to ignite beyond the weapon’s tip, allowing a bigger mass of the heartless to be torn through in the trade of taking damage himself. Claws, teeth, lightning spells and just about anything else in the book.
But all the time within this struggle.. where was the source? The true threat pulling the strings for a fight that’s been going on way too long within the Keybearer’s book? Straining his eyes through the chaos of battle, if his vision wasn’t fooling him.. wasn’t that a figure wading amidst the darkness?
Before he could yell out a single word. It all went to light.
Quickly jostling his sight to and fro, the chaos gave way back to his surroundings initially used for a night of rest. All that could be heard was the purring engine of the gummy ship as the comical snores of his favorite companions joined the noise. Safety. The reassurance caused his shoulder to grow lax as he settled back into his seat. “A dream.. A really actiony one too..”
An idle glance would be given to his hand as he raises it up, giving it a curious stare as he collects his thoughts. “They’ve been getting more intense too.. Jeeze. I wonder what that’s about..” Before any deep thought could be drawn in, the familiar growl of a more intimate companion, aka his stomach stole his attention. Sora couldn’t help but snicker at that.
“Might need to fix this first.”
