they’d been seeing one another for a little over a month now and every moment they spent together was one that the cowboy treasured. maya was a fascinating woman and he was enjoying getting to understand her better. it wasn’t often that he chose to take time off, to put the reigns down and pick up a book or something else even remotely non-work related. thor had been checking the weather lately and when the forecast was just right, the blonde decided to take her to the beach. sadly, it’d been years since the last time he’s stepped foot on sandy shores, but he was determined to rectify that. so for their first getaway date, he decided this might be something fun that maya might enjoy. standing with his feet in the water, he glances over his shoulder, ❛ plannin’ on joinin’ me? ❜

rules were meant to be broken. at least, within reason... the way that loki generally broke the rules, was nowhere near the same caliber of breaking that thor had done when they were younger. still, when it came to matters of the heart, most particularly this hart, he couldn’t help himself. he knew the rules, she’d made sure to lay them down for him long before they’d taken the laying together frequently, but he couldn’t be completely blamed. despite her warning, despite her armor of sarcasm and sass, thor had seen the beauty that lay within her and he’d wanted more. he’d catch glimpses of it while they tangled in the sheets, but he wanted to see if when they weren’t both experiencing an endorphin high.

standing before her now, he murmurs it softly, but with the way she’s looking up into his eyes, he can tell she’s definitely heard him. cobalt eyes continue to lock onto her own icy blue, spotting that lip bite out of the corner of his eye as she tries to deflect. nodding, ❛ while i will admit you are breathtaking, ❜ he reaches out to grasp her hand to lay it over his heart, ❛ as you can feel for yourself, mine is beating steady. ❜ the one thing the asgardian is uncertain about, is how she’ll react... he doesn’t know if she’ll shut him out completely, or get angry, or ask him to leave. he knows what he’s hoping for, he’s just not sure she’s ready for it yet. slowly, he releases her hand and gingerly takes a step back to afford her the space he was sensing she needed.

❛ you may want to ask yourself why your heart only seems to beat that fast... when you’re around -- ❜ he pauses, letting the sentence hang there as he studies her briefly, ❛ me. ❜ and with that, he leaves the room to go find something to eat.

his heart hammers around in his chest upon hearing those words, he could feel tears prickling at his eyes as he stands in front of all his family and friends, with the woman he loves, vowing to love her for the rest of his days. thor had never known a greater happiness, than he was feeling in this moment, with his beautiful bride looking up at him, saying those words, those vows... even in the beginning, the god had figured they’d end up here, right here. at the altar. despite the way she’d set those boundaries up, both physical and emotional, between them. he’d been determined, to say the least, to tear them all down and build her back up with all the love and adoration he could muster.

❛ and i have loved you from the moment you saved me in that alley, to this very moment and i shall love you until all the stars in the universe have faded and all that remains is darkness. even then, i shall love you. ❜ once the official has pronounced them, thor drags her to his body and kisses her deeply, overjoyed to have now married the woman who not only stole his heart, but completed his soul. in the background, he hears ‘ladies and gentlemen, may i present to you, mr. and mrs. thor odison’. flashes of camera’s cause him to close his eyes and when he opens them, it’s to darkness. glancing around, he realizes he’s on the couch in the living room.

flopping back down, he sighs, ❛ it was all a dream... ❜ before turning on his side to try and get more sleep.

Maya chuckles a little. "You couldn't destroy me, you can barely 'contain' me." She snuggles in against him, pulling her legs up. "Well then I guess we can just poke around Netflix? Or we could assist your knowledge of 'Netflix and Chill'?"

“hey, i could do it if i wanted to.” he rubbed her knee, smiling at her before rolling his eyes. “i know what netflix and chill is, i’m not completely stupid.”

She smiles as he gets the cup and kisses her forehead. "I think you just like knowing I'll always be too short to reach them, which means I'll always need you. You're tricky, but I'm onto you." Maya pours some juice then follows him back to the couch. "You pick a movie yet handsome?"

lucas winks at her as he leaves the kitchen. “you’ve caught onto my master plan, hart, you must be destroyed now.” he smirks. once she’s on the couch he pulls her closer, shrugging. “i haven’t.”

"Lucas!" She calls from his kitchen. " Lucas, I can't reach the cups!" Every damn time she visits, she's sure he moves them higher on purpose. "Your house needs to be more short friendly, okay?"

lucas laughs as he gets up from the couch in his living room, meeting his girlfriend in the kitchen and grabs the cups, he smiles over at her, kissing her forehead. “i’ll be sure to talk to my mom about that one.”
