15:What would your muse say to their younger self if they could go back in time?
“Please be kinder to yourself. Take your time and embrace the things you like. Just because dumb boys and silly girls your age don’t like hearing ‘creepy’ stories or aren’t the least bit curious about the things they are afraid of like you are, it’s okay. You’ll find someone who shares the same interests as you.”
And 10: Most problematic thing your muse has ever done.
While the ‘incident’ played a part in her weight gain, it is smaller of a cause than one would think, honestly my headcanon is that she’s always had a bad relationship with food.
As a kid/pre-teen it wasn’t noticeable since she was still growing up, so it was natural to have a ‘bit’ of puppy fat and didn’t deminish her cuteness. However, as her female peers started to grow up and their bodies mature, Miyabi found that she couldn’t keep up with their slender figures.
Stress from high school entrance exams, worrying about grades and other insecurities that to others might seem small and insignificant, but rather than ‘bothering’ her best friend or crying to her parents, Miyabi turned to food to the point of over indulgence.
By the time she was in her second year the habit had become a lifestyle.
While the events of Innocent Sin does lead her to becoming thinner, personally I don’t think the effects will stick because this cycle would have to be something Miyabi would have to break herself.
“That I won’t be liked. That people look at me and think ‘what a disgusting pig’.”
The words come out unbidden, her restraint lost somewhere in the last drink downed. Her gaze focused away from the other female, an index finger lightly pressing at the side of Miyabi’s empty glass.
“I’m sure…there’s some fancy psychological term for it. The doctors I have seen say I’m fine. No thyroid or hormonal issue .They all say that I just…need to learn some self-control and think of myself as cute. Dieting would be the easiest solution.”
At this, her brow line wrinkled, “I don’t think they understand though…what it is like for a woman. We’re supposed to be small, petite and slender. It’s the whole appeal, if we’re…a little bit thick then it means we indulge too much or are too lazy to look after our bodies.”
At hearing herself talk and afraid of bringing down the mood, Miyabi put on a more cheery disposition.
“I think we’ve got some time to hit a karaoke box before they have last call. Would you like to sing with me?”
When interacting with Miyabi, please keep in mind a few things.
In the main verse: she is an adult and in her early 30′s. So flirting with teenagers is a no-no! She will, rightfully so; turn you youngsters down, pronto!
In the debut verse: Persona 2 timeline/ her age is 17, but still won’t be flirtatious and forward towards other muses.
In either verse, I’m writing Miyabi as being outgoing, inquisitive and perhaps a bit too nosy for her own good (she’s a reporter/gossip-monger so the personality fits the profession).
However, for her seeming to be cheerful and unbothered by things, in either of these verses Miyabi harbors a lot of insecurities about her weight and physical appearance.
Even though events at the Scorpio Temple made it so she was thin and attractive. I headcanon that the effect wasn’t permanent.
Thus as I write Miyabi, she’ll have a history of yo-yo dieting, spurts where she did extreme exercise regiments and watching everything she ate...to times when she simply gave up and let her weight go again.
So while she is not as overweight as she was as a teenager, Miyabi still is self-conscious about her appearance. And therefore if someone flatters her; even if they are honestly genuine about it; Miyabi will act flustered but ultimately turn down the other person thanks to her having a poor view point on her own body.
Although I am aware of the events that happened in the Scorpio Temple, I will be writing Miyabi as still struggling with her body image complexes, weight and alluded eating disorders.
There will sometimes be IC posts that will mention depression, eating disorders and negative body image.
If any of these make you uncomfortable, I will mark posts that mention those issues under a blanket tag of #notkozy.
Simple to blacklist without cluttering legit tumblr tags that might confuse people who are honestly seeking help.
If you need me to come up with a different tag for these things, just private message me on anon.
I won’t post the message, but I will make adjustments for my follower’s comfort and mental health.
Also if you are uncomfortable with me bringing up such topics in our RP’s, I would prefer a private message. Again, I won’t post the message, but I will keep in mind as to what limits I have to abide to when it comes to interactions between our muses.
