9: What's the most important part of a relationship?

I mean like. There’s no one important part and then you can just kinda slack on the others, if that’s what that means. Communication should definitely be a priority (hitting my head whenever I say this because I have so much trouble with this), but there’s also being understanding and forgiving, while at the same remembering that while you and your partner are stuck together like glue, in some ways you’re still two separate people and you’ve got to respect each other accordingly.

There’s also a piece of advice my mom gave me a long time ago that I feel is worth giving, because it’s not told nearly enough. She told me that if you commit to someone (well, she actually said marry), you shouldn’t expect them to change, even for you. And yeah, I’m referring to your partner’s traits that you may not like. Even if it’s little things that get on your nerves, like if they forget to respond right away or you don’t think they put enough effort into comforting or talking to you. Even if they say they’ll change and do these things, and even if they mean it, they might let you down still. Like, don’t hold it against them too much, because they’re only human (unless it’s something really bad, in which case they really do not deserve you), but if it’s something that you know you can’t stand in the long run, then maybe you ought to reconsider a bit.

And definitely try to be conscious when you do it too. God knows I’ve promised my boyfriend so many things, big and small, and then I just realize I can’t keep any them. He’s way too forgiving about it too TTnTT

21: Do you think people who have dated can stay friends?

Yoo, definitely! I think it’s really cool that exes can stay in touch and still be friends, and I think that should be more commonplace. I mean, that’s definitely better than being super awkward around each other or hating each other over things that are gone and done, especially if you still have to be around each other a lot.

38: Do you enjoy love films?

You mean romcoms? I’ve watched several, but that was a long long ago whenever I was bored at home, and I haven’t watched any recently, not least because I’ve become super disillusioned with romance in popular media >.> But if I find a good one then of course I’d love it!
