Reposted from @nonhuman.rights.project Almost 50 years ago, a baby elephant was torn from her family in the wild, exported to the US, and sold for $4K to a family from NJ. They named her Mignon, French for "cute." In 1972 her life as an elephant ended, and her life as a source of entertainment began. Today she is known as Minnie, and we are fighting for her release from a traveling circus to a sanctuary. Visit the link in our bio to read the story of her life as told in a Twitter thread and learn how you can help us #FreeMinnie to @pawsark2000 or @theelephantsanctuary. - #regrann #notourstoexploit https://www.instagram.com/p/CDUgZuhpi1N/?igshid=16r5p8corfe5c
