Lillian grew up friendless and parentless. Her mother wasn’t absent, but Sophia Day wasn’t a kind woman. Words were barely exchanged between the two, and when they were, it was Sophia sputtering out insult after insult to her daughter; remarks about how worthless she was. Her father wasn’t around as a child, and it wasn’t that he didn’t want to be; Sophia Day came from a powerful and wealthy family, and when Abel tried to fight custody for his baby girl, Sophia claimed that she’d been assaulted, that Abel was a drug addict, and that all she wanted was what was best for her daughter. It was all lies, of course, but the court favoured her. And so, desperate for affection and adoration, Lillian began acting out. She began drinking and smoking at a young age, and when that didn’t work, she started fights at school, came home with a busted lip and a broken bone every day, and even began to shoplift. She got good at it, and that’s how she met Antonio ‘Tony’ Cortez. And once the two fell in love, she ran from her mother and never looked back, and met her father for the first time at the age of fifteen.
