Really? I thought he got elected because people were pissed at the demos for booting Sanders in favor of Hilary and at the shady shit that was going on with her.
Oh that’s definitely a large reason why the democratic party failed but yeah people legit didn’t vote
Voter turnout was an all time low, like it was pathetic
And one of the reasons why people didn’t vote was because they didn’t think their vote would matter or count towards something - and a lot of people just assumed Hillary would win because Trump was made to look so outlandishly/hilariously horrible in comparison to her, so it seemed like a given
Hillary would obviously win the election because Trump is a joke and no one would vote for him
Like in theory, it sounds ludicrous: Trump, president of arguably the most powerful country on the planet? Yeah right, that would NEVER happen, people can’t be that stupid enough to want to vote for him!!!
And it’s that mindset that helped Trump become president lmao

What magic ice fantasy land are you walking on...
‘tis called quebec a week after a major snowstorm and it truly does make for some really nice pictures
@notsoaveragejo replied to your post “So…Pride Toronto just voted to ban police floats in their parades and...”
That was something that rubbed me wrong when I heard about it back then. It violates other people's rights because I'm pretty sure there were people that would want the police there, and shits on the LGBT policemen too. And didn't BLM hijack a vigil for the Orlando incident and a mural unveiling?
That’s what I’m most concerned about - the fact that they’re excluding a whole other group of queer people, which is like...so contradictory to the message they’re preaching.
I didn’t hear about the Orlando thing though. What happened?

Makes sense, I did see people talking about how much shit was being thrown at Trump throughout all electoral process. But didn’t the % of votes for the Reps among minorities increase in this election though? I remember someone reporting that white vote for the right only increased in 1% and that a lot more black, latino and others voted Rep
Yes, actually, there was a spike in minority votes - which is interesting but at the same time not very shocking. Trump has been blatantly racist, sexist, classist, all the -ists, but he appealed to some minority groups because he also promised things that appealed to them like making more jobs and stuff - and I personally don’t think Hillary did enough to appeal to that, or maybe Trump was just better at appealing to that sector more than her
I had a conversation with my mom about this and she believes that the reason why minorities voted for Trump is because they didn’t think they would get the change they wanted with Hillary
The change Trump will bring may not be a good change but a lot of people were willing to gamble on it because his change would be more drastic and noticeable than Hillary or something like that

Mind Hilary did win by popularity and Trump received the least votes in history iirc, it was the electoral vote that fucked us. I’m in absolute shock that tumblr actually got that stupid department to do a q&a lmao
The sad thing is that the three of us are talking about US politics and none of us are American lol

The only bad part about this is that when something actually comes up people won’t believe it anymore.

The internet doing God’s work
That’s why the internet is so iffy sometimes. There’s such a strong hive mind mentality here, to the point where people will forego reason and logic to justify themselves
Trump’s an idiot, that’s a given, but what I’m really afraid of with his presidency is that no one will take him seriously as president because of stupid stories like these - which gives him a lot of space and leeway to do whatever the hell he wants with the power he’s been given
In a sense, that’s how he got elected in the first place: people thought it was a joke that he was running for president, and a lot of people didn’t take his candidacy seriously...but then he fucking got elected and everyone’s acting so surprised, as if they didn’t see this coming
The joke’s no longer funny but it’s still running because people are still treating it like a joke and it’s just...really really sad and scary

Is that the 4chan tricking Buzzfeed into reporting fake Trump news thing
The thing is, I’m trying to look into different sources to see if it’s actually fake or not and I’m getting 98234724982 different accounts
Some people say it’s a 4chan prank and some people say it isn’t????
