Nott Dyrmark — The Spy in House Dyrmark
Name—Nott Dyrmark Race—Human Age—28 Orientation—Heterosexual, Bisexual, or Pansexual (Up to Writer) Occupation—Jarl Dagr Dyrmark’s Junior Wife, Secret Spy Location—House Dyrmark in Midaska Portrayed By—Ira Chernova (negotiable within age range)
Appearance
Always seen in her leathers and with her swords, many people mistake her for Jarl Dagr’s guard. This couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s always dressed for battle, as she’s always paranoid she might be found out as an informant -- though, she always keeps her composure and has yet to make a mistake.
Personality
Nott is particularly observant, and has a sort of gift for figuring people out quickly. She trusts her first instincts when it comes to meeting people, and has so far never been wrong -- whether for better or worse. She’s also not a particularly romantic individual, much to the chargin of her husband of four years; though, fortunately for Nott, he has two other wives to occupy his time.
Biography
Though she was born with the name Ingris in House Sonderi, Nott adopted her new name after becoming a spy in House Dyrmark. In her small Sonderi village, she was a grand swordsmaster with stealth unlike any other -- and had made her name unknown as a thief. There were no parents to be found putting her on a safer path, and oftentimes she slept alone in the little warmth to be found between inn hearths. There was better pay to be found in other rogue rings, however, and shortly after a great heist that provided both wealth and influence, she turned her sights on becoming a spymaster. From the time she was sixteen to twenty-three, Nott traded in secrets. She lived in the shadows, her face unknown even to those she did business with. It wasn’t until Jarl Inka herself called upon her that she came out into the light -- to do the dragon mother’s bidding. Jarl Inka Sonderi, Jarl Inga Kettasgrove, and High King Unr Nidir (who has since been assassinated) gave her the task of a deep cover quest: go to House Dyrmark and learn whatever you can. The House has honor in its own right, they said, but before any alliances were made with House Dyrmark, they neeeded to make sure there were no secret plans for invasions. By the time she made it through the Wild Wood and came to Jarl Dagr’s great hall, she was twenty-four, and had a lifetime of bloodshed under her belt. Of the ways she had imagined infiltrating the House, the very last was that she would do it through marriage. But as she slept her first night as a guest in the great hall, having braved the Wild Wood for an entire month, she was courted by the Dagr who was fascinated with her sword arm. They dueled three times, and she beat him three times. On the fourth, he bet her hand in marriage that he would beat her -- and she let him win, though not without giving him another scar or two. Now, with a seat secure as the Jarl’s wife, she is as close to the House’s secrets as she could be. She sends coded messages to the other Houses, telling them of Dagr’s stability changes, the sea raiders delivering supplies to House Dyrmark, and the mounting army of bloodthirsty and hungry men.
