Biography: Originally from Chicago Alex first moved down to Louisiana for college. The son of a media magnate, it was no surprise that Alex first wanted to get involved with communications, and when he finally settled on journalism, his family was extremely proud. What they weren’t however, was prepared for how entitled Alex was when he finished college. Upon returning home, he assumed his dad would be taking him under his wing and teaching him how to run the company, but his dad, Bryce, had different plans. He had expected Alex to get a job within the company and work his way up, making sure he knew every step of the business the way he himself had, but when Alex found that out, he was infuriated. 

It was only through his mother’s intervention that Alex wasn’t completely disinherited, and when he realized no other media companies in Chicago would give him a chance after hearing about his entitlement, he fled back to Louisiana, moving to Baton Rouge. He managed to get an entry level job at a paper, which didn’t pay much, but he still had his parents money, which his mom was still providing him. He worked at the newspaper, but he didn’t really make friends, he looked down on the people around him like he was better than them, and that rubbed people the wrong way. After nearly ten years of living and working in Baton Rouge his parents surprised him by coming down to visit. He showed them all the hard work he had been doing, and when his father offered to take them all out to dinner, Alex assumed this would be the point where his dad was going to offer to take him under Bryce’s wing, and let him take over the company, but as the evening went on and there was no mention of it, Alex got more and more mad. The anger came to a boil when Bryce commented on the sale of the company, and Alex was infuriated to find out that Bryce had sold the company for a huge profit. When Alex demanded to know what was going to happen to him, his father assured Alex that he wasn’t forgotten about. He had an account full of money put aside for Alex, for the future. 

Alex, infuriated at his father for ruining his life long plans, stormed off into the night, and Bryce and Carmen, Alex’s mom, were never heard from again. Alex was investigated closely, but when witnesses said they saw him walk away before his parents disappeared, the investigation ran cold. Alex went back to Chicago to declare his parents dead, but found that all of the money his father had promised him was in a trust that could only be accessed when Alex was an editor of a paper himself. The life insurance on his parents was paid out to other people, and the money that Alex had been getting monthly was no longer coming in. Destitute, he went back to Baton Rouge, and began to pressure his boss into letting him learn under him, letting him be an editor. The boss didn’t go for it, and after awhile got more and more uncomfortable with Alex pressuring him. Alex would harass staff members, trying to act like he was better than them, until he was eventually fired for his behavior. 

Infuriated, he was sure it was a coworker he had been bossing around who got him fired, and he followed them home before grabbing them as they got out of their car and telling them that they had made a terrible mistake. The next day the office got an email saying they were quitting and never coming back. Meanwhile, Alex moved down to New Orleans and began to work at a paper there. He kept his head down, stayed under the radar, but tried his hardest to come up with stories that would impress his bosses. When the great announcement happened, he tried hard to write stories about it, but so many stories were happening all over the world that they were lost in the shuffle. 

When he heard about a city of solely supernatural people, he knew he had to move there, he had to be a journalist, and maybe- just maybe he could impress the world and make editor of that paper, and finally get his inheritance.

BIOGRAPHY

Silas grew up in the town of Mistfall, Maine. It is his home. If you ask him he’ll say he always sort of knew about the supernatural in his town. It’s not odd for a child to have belief in things that are beyond what most people consider to be the natural world. In Mistfall though all of the stories were treated with a level of respect that when it came time to question Silas went to his parents and pressed the issue of the supernatural being real. Eventually, they gave in and told him the truth of the town and Silas has been an advocate for peace ever since.

Silas would never leave Mistfall, his family has lived in town for generations and he could never come to terms living without the amazing knowledge of being surrounded by beings which are supernatural. He craves understanding and has done significant research into every species which occupies the town he loves. The hunger for knowledge has led him to make friends with many people in town. He’s developed a reputation for being open minded and a good listener and confidant.

He loves the supernatural but his parents always made it clear that when he wanted to settle down he would need to marry a human. The Bowman’s like the Romanov’s and the Nightingale’s were founding members of the town. In fact, his family has represented the humans for centuries and were the representatives for humans at the last treaty. This is how things have always been and how they should have continued, but Silas isn’t sure he can settle for humanity. However his parents consistently pressuring him to lead the family and that he is the heir to the name and needs to set a good example for his younger siblings. He isn’t exactly opposed to the idea but he’s spent so much time getting to know the supernatural he wants to be apart of the fabric he loves so much. He knows he needs to be human and his descendants should be but the concept of being with someone who doesn’t know sounds so boring he grates against it, even worse what if the human he chose couldn’t accept supernaturals or didn’t see the beauty in them as he did. He struggles to think he could ever find the right match in a human.

Character Name: Camille O’Connell Character Age: 24 Character Species: Human Status: Open Character Quote: “No one can control you, unless you let them.”

Past:

She was a psychology student who moved to New Orleans to investigate the death of her twin brother, Sean O'Connell (who was cursed by the witches). But for the most part she found herself ingrained in the way NOLA worked and decided to stick around. She also happens to be the niece of Father Kieran and for that reason is protected due to his friendship with Marcel, who just so happens to be the king of the Quarter. While finding herself strong willed and intelligent, it’s hard for her not to wonder if she’ll turn out the same as her brother because proof shows that everyone has a darker side to them and it’s simply the choice of that individual to act on it. 

She had no knowledge of the supernatural world she lived amongst until she found messages from herself that revealed she’d been helping Klaus Mikaelson write his memoirs which would be all good and normal if he wasn’t some original hybrid with more psychological issues than she cared to admit. She’d gone to her Uncle for answers though found he almost evaded the topic as a whole, trying to make her feel as if she was just mad or getting the wrong end of the stick.

Present:

She finds herself searching for the answers her uncle refuses to give, except she doesn’t know how to get them without undoing whatever Klaus did to her in compelling her memories away. She’s certain that letting up that she knows something will only lead to more of her memories being gone. So for now she’s staying silent until and opportunity arises. 

Connections:

Father Kieran O’Connell: Kieran is the last family member she has left in NOLA or at least of the family she knows. She loves him and trusts him more than anyone but even she knows he’s hiding something from her even if it turns out that it’s simply to protect her, she wants to know the truth. 

Elena Gilbert: One of the few new people in NOLA that Cami has found a friend in, she see’s that the younger female has known loss and it’s nice to have someone that understands the depths of it and unbeknownst to her Elena could also be helpful in the transition of knowing about the supernatural world.  

Sophie Deveraux: Sophie works along side Cami, though Cami has found herself noticing that the woman might be another person involved in the world she has only just been introduced to.

Sveina Nidir — The Human Former Queen

Appearance

Before her husband’s death, Sveina was always seen dressed to the stars, though she was never afraid to get dirty while playing with her sons. Now, still grieving his loss a year later, Sveina tries her best to keep her appearance well for her people, but can sometimes be found disheveled after a bout of crying. Her husband having been very smitten with her and often gifting her with hand-carved pendants of the dragon-bone Randvir had sent home, she often clutches her necklace to feel closer to her husband.

Personality

Sveina has always been known for her benevolence. She often gave her opinion to her husband and thus he, too, was known for mercy. She acts as an adviser to Randvir now, and feels very indebted to him for keeping her family so close -- still under the same roof where she had birthed her children.

Biography

Sveina was born within the borders of House Kettasgrove and grew up as a smith’s daughter. When she was only fifteen, she met Unr Nidir when the High family was on diplomatic travels. She and Unr were immediately smitten with each other -- married only ten months later, with their twin sons born when both were twenty-four after several unsuccessful attempts to have children. Sveina poured herself into being a mother, and then a Queen when Unr’s father died of illness. When Unr was murdered in the snow a year ago, Sveina broke. She would’ve taken her own life if not for the dependency of her children and the support of her husband’s brother, who assumed the throne. (All other biography aspects up to writer.)
