As much as Ganymede enjoyed being of service to the gods, he also loved the soft moments he spent away from them with people he was fond of in tender acts of service to each other. As the pair exited the shower and he was lovingly dried off by his close companion, he couldn’t help but smile, his cheeks flushing once the first gentle kiss was laid upon him, his hand instinctively going to the other man’s wet hair and resting upon it gently. “You’re so good to me,” he said with soft fondness, a fondness that felt like a soft warm blanket on a cold winters day, his hand shifting lower to gently rub the other man’s cheek with his thumb. Perhaps he’d have to return the favor once his companion finished.

Long ago, Aurelius had promised himself he’d have no sympathy or love for a mortal, one who would die and leave him alone again, just as he’d been before them. He was a fool to see hope and anger creating some awe-inspiring whirlwind when he met the rebel students. He’d stood with them, given them direction from decades upon centuries seeing military action and massacres. Someone with his experience in the world should have seen the shots before they were even fired, known they were coming. Clutching the bloody hole where his own wound should have been fatal, he’d cursed that national guard with misfortune and death, words as acidic as the heightened green in his eyes.

He thought of that a year later as he ventured to that street where the Barricade had been set, where he fought alongside Les Amis, both relieved and outraged there was no trace of that day, seemingly no other mourners. Seemingly. “May you be safe, dear ones, in the hall of heroes... Tir na Nóg, Elysium, wherever they saw fit to put you, so long as you are now at rest,” he muttered, still not aware of anyone else who came to remember those who lost so much here.

“When you say your pain’s ‘4 out of 10′, that’s a normal person’s ‘8 out of 10′. We’re going to the hospital.”

"No! No doctors, no hospitals, if anyone comes near me with a needle so help me God I will burn this place to the ground!" He clutches the wound in his side that would have rendered a regular person unconscious by this point, "I just need blood."

The author had decided to hang around after his dinner for some drinks. It had been a good meeting, and to celebrate the new deal Bill had thought indulging in some admittedly overpriced but still delicious drinks at the bar was a good way to go about it. He didn’t do things like this often, but it had been a while since he had been out like this especially on his own.

What he hadn’t expected was to catch the attention of anyone, however it looked like that was what had happened. Sure, he was famous to a degree, but most people didn’t tend to recognize him outside of a premier, ceremony or book tour. They tended to be more familiar with his work than with him. Still, he made sure to be as friendly as possible because he genuinely did enjoy talking to people about his books or films. Even if this was meant to be part of his time off. 

But when the blonde approached, he realized that maybe he hadn’t been recognized at all. Well. That was new. After taking another sip of his drink he gave the young man another warm smile, hand extending for a friendly shake. “I’m Bill, it’s nice to meet you.” Enjolras was probably once of the most French names he had ever heard and not for the first time was he was glad that he had all those French lessons under his belt so he wouldn’t make an ass of himself when pronouncing it. His fluency in the language wasn’t something he used too often, usually reserved for when he was in France or doing an interview in French. 

“I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone named Enjolras before, but it’s nice,” he commented with a grin.

“You... uh, you doing okay?” Penny, slows his walking enough to speak, his mismatched eyes flickering from the other to the ground. Shifting his back more onto his shoulder a bit nervously since he still wasn’t used to talking to strangers.

The puppeteer pulled an exaggerated face of disgust, clearly overplaying it for drama’s sake. “Eugh, neither am I! Just watching it is enough to make my stomach churn. Sure, romance is nice in a sense, but this,” He waved a hand towards all the roses and gaudy decorations that had bombarded the town square. “This is ridiculous!” Such words coming from a man who regularly dressed in clothing of flamboyant colors adorned with bells was really saying something about the whole festive display.
