She didn't want to be there, not on these terms, but she was on an Avenger mission when they ran into Cable's crew. She had friends there. She even told Steve she wasn't going to be turning in her friends. And he knew she was adamant about it. So when she had run ahead of the others "to scout" (when in reality she had caught their scent first.)

But she hadn't figured that they would be prepared for any Avengers coming over that hill, they had made a sizable entrance after all. And as she came round to warn them, she felt a dart hit the front of her throat. A shocked look washed over her as she felt the extremely powerful sedative kick in and saw Nemesis lower his tranq gun.

"I was... coming to warn...you..." Before she collapsed and rolled down the hill.
