Nova is half edenian which gives her access of a magical birthright which means she possesses the ability to manipulate magic from the very beginning. One of the most well-known powers that Nova has is her ability to shape, warp, defy and bend reality itself. She has been stated as one of the world's greatest and most dangerous sorceresses. She can use this ability to create anything and everything from nothing.

Personality

Nova is known for her kindness but times change and so did she. She's still kind but she will soon be infamous for her sudden ruthlessness. Nova has sass and a bit of spunk to her always wanting the last word. But she is a firm believer in second chances. She doesn't like to be seen as a pushover or kindness being seen as a weakness.

History

Nova was born in Outworld, by Thalia the Elder Goddess of Night and her father was none other than Onaga the Dragon King. But when Shao Kahn, took over she worked in his palace as a sorceress but retained her title. But she grew up beside Jade, Kitana, and Mileena.

Before the Mortal Kombat 9 time period, Nova is shown to be kind and sweet but she has more attitude. She meets Shang Tsung under aggravated circumstances to where she ends up throwing wine in his face.

Kitana was able to refrain, Shao Kahn from having her ʼpunishedʼ. So now Shang Tsung trains and teaches her the most exotic of things.

In Shang Tsung's first time training her, he intentionally caused harm to her and she developed a scar around her stomach area.

But during the tournament, she was able to meet Liu Kang on his Island. They both took an interest in each other, and they trained together and spent a decent amount of time together. Liu Kang offers to take her back to Earthrealm with the others but she can't due to her 'agreement' with Shang Tsung. But Liu Kang parts her with a hug and Nova returns it with a kiss on the cheek.

But with the time Shang Tsung and Nova spend together, they develop a strange love and friendship for each other, and after Shao Kahn congratulates him on creating Mileena. Shang Tsung proposes to Nova and they get married. But their marriage is a little different and also short-lived Shang Tsung made a way that Nova's body, mind, heart, and soul belonged to him. When Nova learns of Shang Tsung's death she of course grieves.

But In Mortal Kombat X she is not seen as much but has associated herself with Mileena Kahnum's Court. She has also been learning a little bit of light magic which causes her hair to gain white streaks. She also designed most of Mileena's outfits. She aided Mileena in her rebellion but at the end she was Kotal's Prisoner.

"You are not meant to be a prisoner to a realm that belongs to you."

In Mortal Kombat 11, She helps the Special Forces invade Netherrealm and she is the one who saves Sonya and the rest of the crew. She aids Kitana, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Serafina in saving Jade from the Tarkatans and while Kitana is fighting Skarlet she is fighting off Tarkatans. But she is seen helping Kitana and the others invade Outworld.

Her mother's whereabouts are still a mystery but she does find a small box left in her room that contains an amulet but she decides not to wear it. In the final battle against Kronika, she joins Kitana Kahnʼs ship in battle. After winning the battle and settling back into things temporarily Kitana announces her plans to unmerge Edenia and even makes Nova a part of her court.

In Aftermath at the Hourglass Liu Kang asks Nova to join the original trio Fujin, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung. At first, she rejects the offer but with enough prompting by Liu Kang, Kitana, and even Raiden she joins the trio.

Nova is shown to be snappy towards Shang Tsung and Fujin. Nonetheless, she helps revive Sindel and is seen fighting side by side with Kitana on the ship.

In Mortal Kombat 1 Nova is seen as a princess of Outworld the most favored one to be exact even if her adoption is a mystery to the realm. Empress Sindel and Emporer Jerrod took her in after Sindel's close friend Thalia passed away. Nova was raised by Sindel and Jerrod along with Mileena and Kitana learning magic and honing her own fighting skills making sure to contrast her sisters, making sure her magic didn't compare to Kitana's wind abilities or Mileena's unnatural speed and strength.

When Mileena becomes Empress of Outworld she appoints Nova as Outworld's Chosen One due to her bravery in saving the realm. While Kitana trains Outworld's armies Nova prefers to be in the court alongside Mileena and Reptile because she acts as her court sorceress.

Affectionate Gaze

PLOT: nova must distract shang tsung while liu kang, kitana, kung lao, and jade search for a few items but not really.

"If I'm allowed to be perfectly honest it's not the best idea you've had as of late." Nova resumed tapping her finger claws on the round table in disinterest, only stopping when someone spoke. Kitana scowled at Nova but Sindel put a comforting hand on her shoulder before speaking up, "No it is not the best of ideas but we do not have many suggestions for the situation at hand Novanna." In short, they wanted her to be bait, maybe bait was too harsh of a word they wanted her to be a distraction for the soul-stealing shape-shifting sorcerer they all know and love.

Mileena had volunteered but it would have been too obvious thus making Shang Tsung suspicious the next occupant was Ermac but Shang Tsung would see him as a meal and that would be the end of it. At this point and time, everyone knew about Nova and Shang Tsungʼs relationship which dates back to the tournament. Their marriage, Novaʼs pregnancy, Novaʼs miscarriage — everything.

But if Nova was the distraction posing as someone who means to reconcile it would take up enough time to get what they would be searching for. What are they searching for you might ask? A gemstone. A core gemstone made by Delia that held Edeniaʼs essence. Edeniaʼs Kamidogu was acquired not too long ago and in Rainʼs hand since Kitana had announced that he would be Edeniaʼs Protector.

Kitana has already made promises to her people that Nova knows she won't be able to fulfill them all but that's a discussion for another time. Their current objective was Shang Tsungʼs Island and Deliaʼs gemstone. Nova looked at the people who occupied the round table Baraka appeared motionless, Koʼatal seemed indifferent, Jade and Mileena seemed to agree with Kitana and Sindel, and Erron gave Nova a shrug indicating that he simply didn't care.

"When do we leave and who are we taking with us?" Nova looked at Kitana with disdain and her body language matched. "Liu Kang and Kung Lao will assist us but Jade and Mileena will keep watch." Once again Nova did not like the sound of the plan she never did but what could she do? What could she say?

Since Kitana wanted them to move quickly they moved quickly. Sindel and Mileena would be looking over the Royal Court in Kitana's absence. Nova wore a stone face all morning and spoke to no one unless it pertained to the ‘mission’. Nova had opened a portal outside of the palace and watched with a vexed gaze as Liu Kang and Kung Lao walked through but she offered them a smile and a wave that was also returned she wanted them to be silently aware that whatever anger she may have wasn't towards them but towards the situation at hand. “We should be on our way, Princess Kitana. It may be morning in Outworld but if I'm correct it should be nighttime in Earthrealm.” Nova turned to face Liu Kang and Kung Lao with a raised brow, “Right?” Kung Lao shrugged his shoulders. “Coming through the portal just now the sun was setting. By the time we arrive at the isle, it should be nightfall.” Nova closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

“Alright then let's go.”

Yes, it was indeed nighttime when they arrived at the steps of Shang Tsung’s isle and Nova’s legs were trembling from the anxiety of her meek mission and the fact that Kung Lao should never be allowed to operate a boat for the rest of his life if anybody can help it. “Liu Kang unless Raiden or any other deity I can't beat allows him to never let him get behind a ship’s wheel again.” Jade huffed, elbowing Kung Lao as she walked past him, Kung Lao proceeded to shake himself out as if she were a dog, and Kitana snatched off her mask in agitation, “Agreed.” Liu Kang laughed as Kung Lao gave the group one of his dramatic sighs. “How was I supposed to know there was a rock right there?” Nova scoffed and continued up the steps,” By looking in front of you and not attempting to look at someone’s cleavage?” Nova opened the door to the Palace Entrance and looked around trying to get her bearings. There were a few unopened treasure chests and gold coins littered the floor, Nova looked behind her to see a sealed double door and if she was right that was one of the entrances to his throne room. She looked in front of her and saw a slip-through door on her left and a gaping hole that anyone could slip through.

“Alright Kitana and Liu Kang go through that slip door and there should be more chests you can look through but there is also a pathway that leads underground where Shang Tsung held most of his prized artifacts. Jade and Kung Lao the same thing applies but you will have to take that slip out right there. I’m separating you so you can cover more ground and so your energies won’t alert him. If Kitana and Liu Kang end up back here and Jade and Kung Lao aren't here yet you will wait and vice versa.” Kitana opened her mouth but Nova beat her to it. “Do not worry about me. I’ll find my own way out but if either of you find the gemstone, retrieve it and leave quickly.” With that, they rushed away and Nova was left to herself for a few moments and she stood there motionless just swaying left to right and working up the courage to go through those doors and into the courtyard.

As she placed her hands on the doors she took one more breath and pushed the doors open. Nova put her hand on her chest to calm her racing heart.

“Shang!” A moment passed when she called his name as Nova scanned the area she huffed and turned around, “Yes?” Nova yelped and jumped back from hearing the voice she had heard so many times before. She looked at Shang Tsung and the first thing she noticed was that he was younger, he was wearing dark brown pants, a green vest, and a long black trench coat.

It was silent for a few more moments until Shang Tsung spoke up, “You look different. I like it.” Nova licked her lips and straightened herself “You look the same. I like that.” A small smile appeared on her lips and she ran towards him and hugged him. She squeezed him a bit harder when he hugged her back nestling his face into her neck “I've missed you, Shang. I've missed you so much.” Nova pulled back to look at him and he tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, “I never doubted your love for me in a way you will always belong to me.” Nova remembered that she was a distraction. Time to be a distraction. What a great time to be a distraction.

Nova narrowed her eyes at Shang Tsung, “Belonged to you? What do you mean I belonged to you?” Nova pulled away but Shang Tsung kept a soft grip on her arms as their smiles started to dial down. "It's not too hard to understand, it's very simple, you belong to me. Nothing has changed, you came back to me did you not?” Nova could feel an eye twitch coming, “Based on rumors and gossip it’s not like you gave the message out yourself when you were restored did you?” Shang Tsung’s smile turned into a sneer, “I never intended for you to come this early but you were never one for patience, everything must happen on your own time?” Nova scoffed and backed away, “Your soul is mine to fault anyway see?” Shang Tsung waved his hand in a circle and presented the very thing in his claw gauntlets that was causing Nova so much trouble. Her soul. She didn't know how it worked that he was holding her soul in his very hands but she was still standing and breathing. A rare being, Shang Tsung will give her that. "I have it so it's mine. You’re mine" He sounded like a child who didn't want to share anything at playtime.

He didn't care. He didn't want her soul. He needed it. Like he needed her. Like he needed her heart to be his again. He knew those godforsaken monks, the princess and her protector were here on his island but he silently applauded her for the little plan he had overheard when they were at the entrance. Because he had his own little plan. If they were both quite long enough they could hear her soul echo something but couldn't make it out into words. "Shang Tsung, would you be so kind as to give me my soul back?" Nova asked with fake kindness she didn't have the time for this nor the patience. "Not in that tone I won't. Where has my kindness ever got me?" Shang Tsung pointed his clawed finger at her and in an instant, she smacked away. "I will make a deal to show you my kindness and generosity! Your soul for a kiss." It wasn't even a question. A statement. A proposal he said. Nova didn't even look disgusted, "That's it?" She had kissed him many times before like it was nothing…but they were married back then and that was before he tried to steal the krown. Before he had done many things.

But after the death of Shao Kahn, their 'marriage' was broken. Nova let out a ghost of a smile and Shang Tsung chuckled "It can be much more if you want it to be of course. Spend the night, have a drink, talk, share my bed."

Always the gentlemen. "I'll take the kiss for now, thank you." She said as he started to walk over to her again. He looked down at her not even meeting her eyes but began to mess with her corset tightening and loosening a few sections and he seemed so focused. Nova was focused enough on him to notice the slight twitch in his muscle and how he flinched as Nova put her hand on his bicep.

Novaʼs face softened, he was still the same in a way.

Sleep-deprived, and paranoid, Nova could even put the word lonely in there. A lonely old man with a young woman. No, she wouldn't throw it in his face today. She let her other hand settle by his neck, "Do you ever think about us?" Nova looked up at Shang Tsung not in a rude or even confused way.

Us. "Many days and nights I do. It can be fixed. We could start over." Nova took pleasure in seeing his face light up slightly and now their foreheads were touching "It'll take time and effort." Shang Tsung cut her off "I know." He hid his face in her neck as he started rambling "I know I know I know I know I know [know I know I know I know I know I know." He wanted her. He needed her so badly. So bad it hurt.

Deeply in love with the person, he had hurt and he regretted it. He had done so many unforgivable and fathomable things to Nova and the ones close to her.

Things that Shao Kahn would praise and others looked down on. He honestly didn't care as much as they didn't trust them. He was surprised she even came to see him. Well...he is holding her soul captive. He is not doing much better. "Shang?" Nova whispered his name and he brought his attention back to her face as Nova brought his face down to hers. Her onyx-covered lips made the desperate connection to his full lips. Shang made any gap or amount of space disappear as he brought her closer. He could do so many things while she was in his courtyard.

Would it be so wrong to take her right here? To make the undying love they used to make? She made it tempting. Shang attempted to push his tongue between her lips and once he did it was a battle, to say the least. She was pushing his tongue away and as a way to tell him that she grabbed a fist full of his hair including some of the tiny braids. He didn't pull back- oh no no that hair pull to him was the encouragement that he wanted she should know by now how he liked a little pain now and then.

Nova put both of her hands on his cheeks and brought him off of her lips, a thin string of saliva connected between the two, "Was that enough?" Nova was lightly panting now and so was Shang Tsung. He brought himself down for another kiss and Nova gladly met him. "Not nearly enough." Nova felt out of her body, every limb was moving on its own and she silently blamed Shang Tsung. But in her peripheral, she could see Kung Lao and Jade crouching, so she slid her hand down from Shang Tsungʼs hair and down his back to point her index finger towards an exit.

Jade and Kung Lao gave a quick nod but Nova cringed at the series of events that unfolded Nova removed her lips from Shangʼs panting once more and they gazed at each other for a moment and a moment was all it took for Kung Lao to get distracted and knock something over and make it crashing onto the floor. Jade grabbed his arm and pulled him into the slip as Shang Tsung turned his head around to see what caused the noise and Nova grabbed his face to turn him back to her and kissed him once more to which he melted into without fail.

Nova knew something had shifted in the air and she took note of Shang loosening her corset ribbons that she was in for an eventful night. Hopefully.

Nova has had very few lovers the latest being Shang Tsung who is her husband so to speak. Nova has always wanted children and in my canon, she does have one to be exact a little girl but before that, she had a boy. But unfortunately, she had a miscarriage in other words the baby was premature and didn't live long. A good three or four months but Nova is well aware that the baby her baby had to be suffering and while she has done some really bad things in her lifetime she didn't have the strength to kill her child even for the source of euthanasia. Shang Tsung doesn't know anything about this. I believe no one does since Nova went to her temple for her entire term. But her son, Shang Zixuan, is buried in the edges of Edenia where she had intended to raise him.

"In another life, we will meet each other again and I will give you the life you deserve. You deserve nothing less than the world my dear boy."

Nowadays Nova is very...irritable. No, she won't go straight to violence but she debates. Because everyone seems to be coming out of their neck towards and she just doesn't...appreciate that at all. She holds up a sign that says ʼrespect is earnedʼ but she holds up another that says ʼbeing kind is freeʼ but she burnt that sign down not too long ago. Nova wears her emotions on her sleeve somewhat if someone says something to hurt her feelings she will show it on her gave if not speaking her mind. She stabbed Koʼatal once with Kitanaʼs fan. More so a slice. She doesn't like his god complex at all toward Liu Kang and Kitana being an item or bad-mouthing Mileena in general. Out of pure spite, she sliced Erron Black with one of her finger claws. When she won the hourglass she enjoyed putting Geras for a loop of multiple deaths everyone more painful and elaborate than the last.

"If you have a problem we can go outside and settle it. But don't use petty words to bring me down."

worst thing they have ever done

Nova has never done physical torture but psychological is where she shines. She tortured people when it was asked of her but it would have to be one time that she did it out of her own kindness. Someone close to her was feeling the utmost turmoil and she decided to help them on her own. She abused the so-called abuser. Getting into their psyche by leaving small letters, all their friends don't want to be around, and their family thinks they aren't worth the time. Just overall bad luck. worst thing they have ever done

The worst thing Lilith has ever done? This is a hard one. There are a few things Lilith has done on purpose and by accident. Alright, here we go. She remembers this moment vividly and the only person that knows is Rain. As a matter of fact, she did it for him. There was a group of assassins attempting to kill Rain. Attempting. Since when do assassins travel in groups? Anyway, she had got word from Kitana that Rain had been on the run since they had revived him but it wasn't by choice and that was all she needed to hear. She had every intention of saving him and if she didn't they would come after her next for obvious reasons. She located them and the rage that filled her was indescribable. They had tortured him with malice with pure heinous intent. She returned the favor tenfold. But what makes the story worth telling is that there was a girl. A new girl apparently it was her first mission or something. First and last. She kept babbling on about how they were supposed to catch some thief and kill them. As Lilith came closer she said she had nothing to do with the torture. But she did nothing to stop it either. As Lilith claims.

"I can kill you with my bare hands or you can walk straight off that cliff it's up to you. I don't intend on letting you live."

Lilith isn't a violent person. She is very sweet. Everyone knows this. But she hates that her kindness is taken advantage of. She hates that kindness is branded as a weakness. But her anger is...like... it's like poking a bear. Only so much can get Lilith to burst and that is what will make her mad. When she does get mad that's when she gets violent. She throws things. She insults people and she will go below the belt. She destroys personal belongings because she is spiteful. Family heirloom? She broke it. Picture with your best friend or family? She ripped it. Now in fighting even when she is spiteful, she is still fair. Even if she was in the wrong she attempts the be nice which messes with people.

"Everything you spew me. Everything you hit me with will come back to you. I cannot wait to see it. I pray to the gods that I am alive and well to see it!"

Lilith's life has been put on the line multiple times and she has never gotten anything in return. She knows she is loved and cared for but in the back of her head if she died...would people mourn her? Or would they mourn the fact that they lost a powerful ally? She has risked her life for people when it was asked of her and when it wasn't. She knows it comes with the whole hero thing but something doesn't feel right. It never has and it never will. If we're going back to the teenage years she had thought of suicide multiple times. I mean she died because of the chosen one and she was resurrected due to the chosen one. It feels forced. She wants to break the cycle, so to speak. No matter how much she sacrifices. no matter how many times she dies. She will remain in the background.

"One day. Not today. Not tomorrow. Maybe not even years from now. I will let you die. Your death will bring me life."
